Գարունը տարերայնորեն է սկսում Միջին Արևմուտքի շրջաններում՝ ավելի քան մեկ ոտնաչափ ձյուն տեղալուց և տորնադոների մոլեգնումից հետո, քանի որ նույն փոթորկի համակարգը շարժվում է դեպի արևելք և ձգտում է ողողել Արևելյան ափը, հաղորդում է NBC News-ը:

Հինգշաբթի առավոտյան՝ գարնան առաջին պաշտոնական օրը, տասնյակ միլիոնավոր մարդիկ արթնացան Միջին Արևմուտքում ավերածություններից:

Ձնաբքի մասին նախազգուշացումները նախօրեին տարածվել են Կանզասի նահանգից մինչև Մինեսոտա նահանգ՝ ստեղծելով վտանգավոր քամու պայմաններ, ինչի հետևանքով կիսակցասայլերը շրջվել են ճանապարհին:

Նեբրասկայում իշխանությունները զգուշացրել են բնակիչներին զերծ մնալ ճանապարհներից, երբ ձյունը և քամու պոռթկումները հանգեցրել են ճանապարհների փակման, էլեկտրահաղորդման գծերի վնասման և ավտովթարների:

Ձնաբքի հետևանքով Այովա նահանգի Լակոտա քաղաքում 14,5 դյույմ ձյուն է տեղացել, Այովա նահանգի Ալգոնա քաղաքում՝ 12 դյույմ, Նեբրասկա նահանգի Վակո քաղաքում և Կանզաս նահանգի Գով Սիթիում՝ 10 դյույմ հաստության ձյուն:

Միևնույն ժամանակ, չորեքշաբթի Ինդիանա նահանգի Գարի քաղաքում տորնադոն շենքերի տանիքներ է պոկել:

Ուժեղ քամիները փոթորիկ են առաջացրել Տեխասում, իսկ հարևան հարավային նահանգները պայքարում են ուժեղ քամիներից առաջացած անտառային հրդեհների դեմ:

Փոթորիկը է մոլեգնել Նյու Մեքսիկոյի  Տրիվերս քաղաքում՝ 91 մղոն/ժ արագությամբ, , Տեխասի նահանգի Լիպսքոմբ քաղաքում81 մղոն/ժ, ՝ Կանզասի Գարդեն Սիթիում՝ 68 մղոն/ժ, ՝ Այովա նահանգի Դևենպորտ քաղաքում՝ 66 մղոն/ժ և Օկլահոմա նահանգի Տալսա քաղաքում՝ 60 մղոն/ժ արագությամբ:

Քամին հրդեհի վտանգ է ստեղծել հարավային որոշ նահանգներում։

Արկանզասում հրշեջները պայքարում էին նահանգի 38 անտառային հրդեհների դեմ։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, Ֆլորիդայում անձնակազմերը շարունակում են պայքարել անտառային հրդեհի դեմ հարավ-արևմուտքում գտնվող Մայամի-Դեյդում, որը փակել է մուտքը դեպի Ֆլորիդա Քիզ: Ֆլորիդայի անտառային ծառայության տվյալներով՝ հրդեհն աճել է մինչև 14 հազար ակր և մեկուսացվել է միայն 20%-ով:
