Փաստեր օրանգուտանների՝ մարդանման կապիկների մասին

1. Օրանգուտանները կարմրամազ կապիկներ են, որոնք ապրում են հարավարևելյան Ասիայի Սումատրա ու Բորնեո արևադարձային անտառներում:
2. Այս զարմանալի կաթնասունները 1.2-1.5մ հասակ ունեն և կշռում են 100 կգ: Նրանք ունեն թևերի մեծ բացվածք. որոշ արուներ կարող են տարածել իրենց թևերը 2 մետր:
3. Օրանգուտանը մարդկային ցեղի ամենամոտ բարեկամներից է. մարդն ու օրանգուտանը գրեթե 97%-ով նույն ԴՆԹ-ն ունեն: Օրանգուտան բառը առաջացել է մալայերեն orang hutan բառերից, որ նշանակում են «անտառի մարդը»:
4. Օրանգուտանները ժամանակի մեծ մասն անցկացնում են ծառերի վրա՝ օգտագործելով իրենց երկար, ուժեղ թևերը և կեռաձև ձեռքերը մի ճյուղից մյուսը թռչելու ու ճոճվելու համար: Քնում են տերևից պատրաստված բներում՝ գետնից բավականին բարձր, որտեղ դժվար է լինում քաղցած թշնամիներին, օրինակ՝ ընձառյուծներին կամ վայրի կատուներին հասնել նրանց:
5. Սնվում են ցերեկը, հիմնական ուտելիքը միրգն է ու տերևները, բայց նաև ուտում են ընդեղեն, ծառի կեղև, միջատներ և երբեմն թռչնի ձվեր:
6. Էգ օրանգուտանները 8 տարին մեկ են ծննդաբերում, նորածին ձագերը մնում են մոր մոտ 6-7 տարի, մինչև սովորում են անհրաժեշտ հմտությունները միայնակ գոյատևելու համար: Այդ ընթացքում շատ խորը կապ է ստեղծվում մոր ու ձագի միջև:
7. Ի տարբերություն մյուս մեծ կապիկների՝ շիմպանզեի, գորիլայի, բոնոբոյի, նրանք չեն սիրում ապրել խմբերով: Էգերը մեկ կամ երկու ձագի հետ են լինում, իսկ արուները սիրում են միայնակ շրջել:
8. Օրանգուտանները շատ աղմկոտ արարածներ են, եթե այդպես են ուզում: Նրանց ճչոցներն ու մռնչոցները լսվում են մղոնների հեռավորությունից:
9. Այս զարմանալի կապիկները երկար կյանք են ունենում: «Գերության մեջ» կարող են ապրել 50-60 տարի, իսկ վայրի բնության մեջ՝ 30-40 տարի:
10. Ցավոք, օրանգուտաններն այսօր վտանգված են: Անտառահատումները նվազեցրել են նրանց բնակության վայրերը, իսկ անօրինական որսորդությունը քանակը դրել է սպառնալիքի տակ: Մենք պետք է անենք ամեն ինչ՝ նրանց օգնելու համար:
