Ըստ նրա, Թրամփը նամակը գրել է ոչ թե նրա համար, որ թույլ է, այլ այն պատճառով, որ չի ցանկանում ռազմական գործողության դիմել։
«Նամակում մոտավորապես ասվում էր՝ ես խաղաղության նախագահ եմ։ Սա այն է, ինչ ես ուզում եմ: Մենք ռազմական ուղով գործելու պատճառ չունենք։ Մենք պետք է խոսենք։ Մենք պետք է վերացնենք թյուրիմացությունները։ Մենք պետք է ստեղծենք ստուգման ծրագիր, որպեսզի ոչ ոք չանհանգստանա, որ ձեր միջուկային նյութը կարող է որպես զենք օգտագործվել: Եվ ես կուզենայի, որ հենց այդպես լիներ, քանի որ այլընտրանքն այնքան էլ լավը չէ»։
