Экс-президент Бразилии предстанет перед судом по обвинению в попытке государственного переворота

Бывший президент Бразилии Жаир Болсонару предстанет перед судом по обвинению в попытке государственного переворота против действующего президента страны Луиса Инасиу Лулы да Силвы после вынесения соответствующего решения высшим судом страны, сообщает BBC News.
Коллегия из пяти членов Верховного суда единогласно проголосовала за продолжение судебного разбирательства. 70-летний Болсонару отрицает попытки заблокировать инаугурацию Лулы и говорит, что он является жертвой политического преследования, направленного на то, чтобы помешать ему баллотироваться на пост президента в 2026 году.
Судебный процесс может начаться уже в этом году. Если Больсонару признают виновным, ему могут грозить годы тюремного заключения.
Еще семеро человек обвиняются в соучастии в заговоре. Это бывший глава разведки Александр Рамаджем, адмирал Альмир Гарнье Сантос, бывший командующий ВМС Андерсон Тауэрс, бывший министр безопасности Генерал Аугусто Хелено, бывший министр институциональной безопасности Мауро Сид, бывший помощник Болсонару генерал Брага Нетто, бывший министр обороны генерал Паулу Сержиу Ногейра ди Оливейра.
