Իսրայելն ասում է, որ զորքերը տեղակայվել են Գազայի հարավում գտնվող նորաստեղծ «անվտանգության» միջանցքում՝ պաղեստինյան ՀԱՄԱՍ խմբավորման վրա ճնշում գործադրելու համար, հայտնում է Associated Press-ը։
Վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն հայտարարեց նոր Մորագ միջանցքի ստեղծման մասին և առաջարկեց, որ այն կկտրի հարավային Ռաֆահ քաղաքը, որը Իսրայելը հրամայել է տարհանել Գազայի մնացած հատվածից:
Իսրայելական բանակը շաբաթ օրը տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ նշել է, որ միջանցքում տեղակայվել են 36-րդ դիվիզիայի զորքերը:
Դեռ հայտնի չէ, թե քանի մարդ է տեղակայվել կամ կոնկրետ որտեղ է գտնվում միջանցքը։ Մորագը հրեական բնակավայրի անունն է, որը ժամանակին գտնվել է Ռաֆահի և Խան Յունիսի միջև, և Նեթանյահուն առաջարկել է, որ այն անցնում է այդ քաղաքների միջև:
Նեթանյահուն ասել է, որ դա կլինի «երկրորդ ֆիլադելֆիական միջանցքը»՝ նկատի ունենալով Եգիպտոսի հետ Գազայի հարավային սահմանը, որը Իսրայելի վերահսկողության տակ է անցած տարվա մայիսից:
Իսրայելը նաև վերականգնել է վերահսկողությունը Նեցարիմ միջանցքի վրա, որը բաժանում է Գազայի հյուսիսային երրորդ մասը, ներառյալ Գազա քաղաքը, մնացած հատվածից: Ֆիլադելֆիայի և Նեցարիմ միջանցքներն անցնում են Իսրայելի սահմանից մինչև Միջերկրական ծով:
Իսրայելի պաշտպանության նախարար Իսրայել Կացն ավելի վաղ հայտարարել էր, որ կգրավի Գազայի մեծ տարածքները և կներառի դրանք իր, այսպես կոչված, անվտանգության գոտիներում:
Իսրայելը խոստացել է սաստկացնել պատերազմը ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի հետ այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ խումբը չի վերադարձնի մնացած պատանդներին, որոնք գերեվարվել էին 2023 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 7-ին Համասի հարձակման ժամանակ:
