Գնդապետ Սյուզան Մեյերսը, որը հուլիսից ծառայել է որպես Պիտուֆֆիկ տիեզերակայանի հրամանատար, հեռացվել է զբաղեցրած պաշտոնից։
Նա հեռու մնաց Վանսի քննադատությունից Դանիայի և տարածքի նկատմամբ վերահսկողությունից՝ երկու շաբաթ առաջ բազա այցելության ժամանակ, գրել են ԶԼՄ-ները։
Մեյերսը, ով հուլիսից ծառայում է որպես Պիտուֆֆիկի ռազմաբազայի հրամանատար։
Մարտի 28-ին բազա կատարած իր այցի ժամանակ Վենսը մամուլի ասուլիսում ասել էր. «Մեր ուղերձը Դանիային շատ պարզ է։ Դուք լավ աշխատանք չեք կատարել Գրենլանդիայի ժողովրդի մոտ: Դուք քիչ եք ներդրումներ կատարել Գրենլանդիայի ժողովրդի համար և քիչ եք ներդրումներ կատարել այս անհավանական, գեղեցիկ տարածքի անվտանգության ճարտարապետության մեջ»:
Իր էլ.փոստի հաղորդագրության մեջ, որը հասանել է եղել military.com-ին, Մեյերսը գրել է. «Ես չեմ ենթադրում, որ հասկանում եմ ներկայիս քաղաքականությունը, բայց այն, ինչ ես գիտեմ, այն է, որ փոխնախագահ Վենսի կողմից ուրբաթ օրը քննարկված ԱՄՆ վարչակազմի մտահոգությունները չեն արտացոլում Պիտուֆֆիկ տիեզերական բազան»:
Գրենլանդիան դանիական տարածք է 1953 թվականից և ունի որոշակի ինքնավարություն 1979 թվականից, երբ ձևավորվել է կղզու առաջին խորհրդարանը։ Կոպենհագենը վերահսկում է Գրենլանդիայի արտաքին քաղաքականությունը, պաշտպանությունը և դրամավարկային քաղաքականությունը։
«Ակնկալվում է, որ հրամանատարները կպահպանեն վարքագծի ամենաբարձր չափանիշները, հատկապես անկողմնակալության առումով, իրենց պարտականությունները կատարելիս», - ասվում է ԱՄՆ տիեզերական ուժերի հայտարարության մեջ:

Մեյերսին փոխարինել է գնդապետ Շոն Լին։
Մարտի 31-ին Մեյերսը նամակ է ուղարկել բազայի ողջ անձնակազմին՝ «ըստ երևույթին, նպատակ ունենալով միասնություն կառուցել օդաչուների և պաշտպանների, ինչպես նաև այնտեղ աշխատող կանադացիների, դանիացիների և գրենլանդացիների միջև՝ Վանսի այցից հետո»:
