Согласно докладу 100 ученых из Службы по наблюдению за изменением климата Copernicus, в прошлом году в Европе повсеместно были зафиксированы температуры выше многолетних средних значений, за исключением Исландии, где было прохладнее, чем обычно.
В среднем, с момента начала индустриализации температура воздуха на всей Земле выросла примерно на 1,3 градуса, пишет DW. В Европе этот показатель составляет 2,4 градуса. «С 1980-х годов температура в Европе росла в два раза быстрее, чем в среднем по миру», - объясняет Саманта Берджесс, одна из авторов доклада.
На жителей Европы все больше влияют экстремальные погодные условия, вызванные глобальным изменением климата. В прошлом году от штормов и наводнений в Европе пострадали 413 тыс. человек, погибли по меньшей мере 335 человек. При этом на юге континента вновь наблюдались сильные засухи, даже зимой.
Но есть и хорошие новости в борьбе с изменениями климата: в 2024 году Европа произвела с помощью экологически чистых возобновляемых источников - солнечных батарей, ветра и биомассы - больше энергии, чем когда-либо прежде: 45 процентов от общего объема.
