ՀՀ 3-րդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը չի համարում, որ ՀՀԿ-ից որևէ մեկը զոհ է դարձել որևէ մեկին։

«Ոչ, բոլոր այն բռնաճնշումները, որոնք եղել են, եղել են ի պատասխան մեր գործողությունների, որին մենք գնացել ենք գիտակցաբար, մենք երբեք մեզ զոհի կարգավիճակում չենք պատկերացրել ու չենք էլ պատկերացնելու»,-Հայկական համալսարանի ունկնդիրների և դասախոսների հանդիպման ժամանակ հայտարարել է նա՝ խոսելով գեներալ Մանվել Գրիգորյանի հետ տեղի ունեցածի մասին։

Նախկին նախագահը նշել է՝ Մանվել Գրիգորյանն Ազգային հերոս է, նրա վաստակը շատ մեծ է։

«Ես շատ մոտիկից եմ շփվել Մանվել Գրիգորյանի հետ, ես չեմ ասի, որ նա ամեն ինչում իդեալական էր, բայց չգնահատել նրա վաստակն՝ ուղղակի ապերախտություն է»,- ընդգծել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը։

3-րդ նախագահն ասել է, որ Մանվել Գրիգորյանն էր խնդրել, որ կողմ քվեարկեն իրեն անձեռնմխելիությունից զրկելու որոշմանը։

«ԱԺ պատգամավորներն ավելի հակված էին եղել կատարել Մանվելի խնդրանքը, քան՝ դեմ քվեարկել, որովհետև ինչքան էլ ժողովրդի ճնշում լիներ, իշխանության ճնշում լիներ, որևէ մեկը չէր կարող ինձ համոզել, որ Մանվել Գրիգորյանը «տուշոնկա ուտող է», այն էլ՝ զինվորի։ Մանվել Գրիգորյանն այնքան մեծ հեղինակություն է ունեցել զինվորականների շրջանում, որ, երբ ապրիլյան պատերազմի 2-րդ օրը մի քանի հազար ԵԿՄ-ականներով հասել էր Ստեփանակերտ, ինձ պարբերաբար զեկուցում էին, որ զորքում ոգևորություն է տիրում, տարածվում էր՝ «տղերք, Մանվելը հասել է»... դրանից ավելի մեծ վաստակ ո՞վ է ունեցել»,- նշել է Սերժ Սարգսյանը։
