Միացյալ Նահանգների և Իրանի միջև ցանկացած գործարք պետք է ներառի ուրան չհարստացնելու վերաբերյալ համաձայնություն, կիրակի օրը ABC News-ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ հատուկ բանագնաց Սթիվ Ուիթքոֆը։
«Մենք ունենք մեկ շատ հստակ կարմիր գիծ, և դա ուրանի հարստացումն է։ Մենք չենք կարող թույլ տալ հարստացման հզորությունն ավելացնել անգամ 1%-ով», - ասել է Ուիթքոֆը։ Ըստ նրա, Թրամփի վարչակազմի տեսանկյունից, ամեն ինչ սկսվում է «գործարքից, որը չի ներառում ուրանի հարստացում»։
«Մենք չենք կարող դա թույլ տալ։ Որովհետև հարստացումը թույլ է տալիս զենք ստեղծել։ Եվ մենք թույլ չենք տա, որ այստեղ ռումբ հայտնվի», - ասել է Ուիթքոֆը։
ԱՄՆ հատուկ բանագնացը նաև հայտարարել է, որ ինքը լավատեսորեն է տրամադրված բանակցությունների վերաբերյալ և կարծում է, որ կողմերն այս շաբաթ կրկին բանակցություններ կանցկացնեն Եվրոպայում։
«Մենք հուսով ենք, որ դա որոշակի իրական դրական տեղաշարժի կհանգեցնի», - ասել է Ուիթքոֆը։
Հինգշաբթի օրը Թրամփը հայտարարել էր, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները շատ մոտ են Իրանի հետ միջուկային գործարք կնքելուն, բայց ուրբաթ օրը հայտարարել էր, որ Իրանը պետք է արագ գործի։ Ուրբաթ օրը Թրամփը Միացյալ Արաբական Էմիրություններից մեկնելուց հետո Air Force One օդանավում լրագրողներին հայտարարել է. «Նրանք առաջարկ ունեն։ Ավելի կարևոր է, որ նրանք գիտեն, որ պետք է արագ գործեն, այլապես վատ բան տեղի կունենա»։
Իրանի ԱԳ նախարար Աբբաս Արաղչին, իր հերթին, հայտնել է, որ Թեհրանը ԱՄՆ-ից առաջարկ չի ստացել։
Իր նախագահության առաջին ժամկետի ընթացքում Թրամփը Միացյալ Նահանգները դուրս էր բերել Իրանի և համաշխարհային տերությունների միջև 2015 թվականին կնքված համաձայնագրից, որը խիստ սահմանափակումներ էր սահմանում Թեհրանի՝ ուրանի հարստացման գործունեության վրա՝ պատժամիջոցների մեղմացման դիմաց։ Թրամփը նաև վերականգնել է պատժամիջոցներն Իրանի դեմ։
