Իսրայելը վերջին 24 ժամվա ընթացքում հարվածներ է հասցրել Գազայի հատվածում պաղեստինյան արմատականների ավելի քան 75 օբյեկտի։ «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին Telegram-ում հաղորդագրություն է տարածել Իսրայելի պաշտպանության բանակը։
«Իսրայելի ռազմաօդային ուժերը հարվածներ են հասցրել Գազայի հատվածում ահաբեկչական ավելի քան 75 օբյեկտի։ Գրոհի ենթարկված թիրախների թվում են եղել ահաբեկիչներ, արձակման կայանքներ, ռազմական համալիրներ, զենքի պահեստներ և ահաբեկչական ենթակառուցվածքի այլ օբյեկտներ», – ասվում է ԻՊԲ-ի հաղորդագրության մեջ։
Իր հերթին, պաղեստինյան կողմը հայտնել է, որ վերջին մեկ օրում Գազայի հատվածում իսրայելական հարվածներից զոհվել է ավելի քան 100 մարդ։
Ապրիլին Կատարի և Եգիպտոսի միջնորդությամբ Գազայի հատվածում հրադադարի և պատանդների վերադարձի շուրջ բանակցությունները կրկին փակուղի մտան, քանի որ հակամարտող կողմերը չկարողացան պայմանավորվել նոր համաձայնագրի շուրջ, որը հիմնված էր ԱՄՆ նախագահի հատուկ պատվիրակ Սթիվ Ուիթքոֆի առաջարկությունների վրա։ Ուիթքոֆի սխեման, որը ենթադրում է հրադադարի երկարաձգում մի շարք ողջ մնացած պատանդների ազատ արձակման դիմաց, ընդունվել է Իսրայելի կողմից և մերժվել ՀԱՄԱՍ շարժման կողմից, որը ցանկանում է պատերազմի լիակատար դադարեցում և անկլավից իսրայելական զորքերի դուրսբերման մասին երաշխիքներ։
Մայիսի 18-ին ԻՊԲ-ն Գազայի հատվածում սկսել է «Գիդեոնի կառքեր» լայնածավալ ցամաքային գործողությունը, որի նպատակն է պաղեստինյան ՀԱՄԱՍ շարժման վերջնական ջախջախումը։ Գործողությունը ենթադրում է նոր տարածքների գրավում և պահպանում, Գազայի բնակիչների զանգվածային տեղահանում հյուսիսից հարավ և զինյալների թիրախների վրա հարձակումների ուժեղացում։ Զինվորականների խոսքով՝ այս գործողության տարբերությունը նախորդներից կդառնա տարածքների պահպանումը, ինչը թույլ չի տա պաղեստինյան ՀԱՄԱՍ շարժման զինյալներին վերադառնալ այն վայրերը, ուր նրանք կարող էին վերադառնալ ավելի վաղ։
