Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը հույս է հայտնել, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի դժգոհությունը Ռուսաստանի գործողություններից կվերածվի գործողությունների, և Վաշինգտոնը լայնածավալ պատժամիջոցներ կկիրառի Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ։ Ըստ  BFM TV-ի՝  լրագրողներին Վիետնամ կատարած այցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է Մակրոնը։

«Իմ ցանկությունը միայն այն է, որ նա գործողություններ ձեռնարկի», -շեշտել է Մակրոնը։

Ֆրանսիայի նախագահը հիշեցրել է, որ անցյալում Թրամփը նույնպես բազմիցս ափսոսանք է հայտնել և դատապարտել է Ուկրաինայի վրա Ռուսաստանի հարվածները։ Նա նշել է, որ Ֆրանսիան կիսում է ԱՄՆ նախագահի վրդովմունքը։

Թրամփը մայիսի 26-ին հայտարարել է, որ Ուկրաինայում թիրախների վրա Ռուսաստանի կողմից իրականացված զանգվածային հարվածներից հետո ինքը «բացարձակապես» քննարկում է Ռուսաստանի դեմ պատժամիջոցների կիրառման հնարավորությունը։ Ամերիկացի առաջնորդը դժգոհություն է հայտնել Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի գործողություններից։ Նա նշել է, որ կողմերը բանակցություններ են վարում, իակ այդ նույն ժամանակ ուկրաինական քաղաքները հրթիռակոծվում են։

Ռուսաստանի առաջնորդի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը, մեկնաբանելով Թրամփի հայտարարությունը, նշել է, որ Պուտինը որոշումներ է ընդունում, որոնք անհրաժեշտ են Ռուսաստանի անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար։ Կրեմլի խոսնակը Թրամփի քննադատությունը որպես հուզական գերծանրաբեռնվածությամբ է բացատրել։
