«Միասնություն» շարժման ղեկավար Արման Վարդանյանն իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է․
«Փա՛ռք բոլոր հերոսներին, փա՛ռք Հայաստանին, փա՛ռք համայն հայ ժողովրդին։
Մենք ազգովի այսօր նշում ենք Մայիսի 28-ը՝ Առաջին Հանրապետության ստեղծման օրը, որը արյունով, խիզախությամբ և անկոտրում կամքով գրված է մեր պատմության մեջ։ Հայ ժողովրդի կողմից անկախ պետականությունը վերականգնելու դարավոր երազանքն ի կատար ածվեց հենց մայիսի 28-ին՝ դառնալով հայոց պետականության վերածննդի խորհրդանիշը։ Առաջին Հանրապետության պատմական նշանակությունը անգնահատելի է:
Թուրքական բանակի դեմ տարած մայիսյան հաղթանակները Սարդարապատում, Բաշ Ապարանում, Ղարաքիլիսայում փրկեցին Արևելյան Հայաստանի վերջին հողակտորները և դրանց վրա ապրող հայությանը, և մեր ժողովուրդը մեծագույն ճիգով վերականգնեց Հայոց անկախ պետականությունը՝ հռչակելով Հայաստանի առաջին հանրապետության ծնունդը։
Մենք ունեցել ենք հերոսներ, ովքեր չվախեցան մահից, որ մենք ապրենք ազատ և անկախ Հայաստանում։ Արամ Մանուկյանը, Դրոն, Մովսես Սիլիկյանը, Համբարձում Տեր-Պետրոսյանը և այլք մեծ ներդրում են ունեցել մայիսյան հաղթանակներում։
Մեր հերոսների ու հազարավոր հայոց նվիրյալների ջանքերով կարողացավ ձևավորվել անկախ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը։ 1918 թվականի մայիսի 28-ին Թիֆլիսում Անդրկովկասյան Ժողովրդավարական Դաշնային Հանրապետության փլուզումից հետո Հայկական ազգային խորհրդի կողմից հռչակվեց Հայկական կամ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը:
Մայիսի 28-ը պարտավորեցնող օր է համայն հայության համար։ Այն մեզ հիշեցնում է, որ անկախությունը ոչ միայն նվաճվում է, այլև պահվում է ամեն օր՝ գիտակցումով, համախմբմամբ ու հստակ նպատակով։
Մենք պարտավոր ենք ճիշտ գնահատել և արժևորել մեզ թողած ժառանգությունը, պահպանել այն և փոխանցել գալիք սերունդներին ։
Հայ ժողովուրդը այսօր էլ զորեղ է, ՀՀ-ն դեռ շատ հերոսներ է ծնելու ու հաղթանակներ է կերտելու։
