Բագրատ Սրբազանը Բաշ-Ապարանի հերոսամարտի 107-ամյակին Ապարանում էր։

Դրոյի շիրիմի մոտից Բագրատ Սրբազանը պատգամ է հնչեցրել․

«Բաշ-Ապարանի, Սարդարապատի, Ղարաքիլիսայի հերոսամարտերի հաղթանակի տրամաբանությունից ծնվեց մեր անկախ Հայաստանը:

Ծնվեց լքված, կեղեքված, հիվանդ, ցեղասպանված ժողովրդի կամքից, հաղթանակի ձգտումից: Ծնվեց այն ժամանակ, երբ մեր ժողովուրդը ինքնագիտակցության, ինքնաճանաչողության բարձրակետին էր հասել` հասկանալով, որ դա իր վերջին հանգրվանն է` ականջալուր լինելով Գևորգ Ե Սուրենյանց հայրապետի կոչին. «Իմ ժողովուրդը դեռ վերջին խոսքը չի´ ասել անարգ թշնամուն, և այդ խոսքը լինելու է հաղթական»:

Այդ օրերի հրամանատարներից մեկը Դրաստամատ Կանայանն էր, ով հենց այս վայրերում կարողացավ հաղթանակ կնքել աշխարհազորի հետ միասին:

2002թ-ին Դրաստամատ Կանայանի շիրիմը ես եմ օրհնել` որպես Արագածոտնի թեմի առաջնորդ: Այդ օրն ասել եմ` այս ամբողջ լեռնապարի մեջ ևս մեկ գագաթ ավելացավ:

Այսօր մենք կոչված ենք ազատագրության այն պատգամներով, այն կամքով, այն տեսիլքներով, որոնք ուներ մեր սիրելի հրամանատարը` Դրաստամատ Կանայանը:

Հերոսամարտին առանցքային դերակատարություն են ունեցել նաև մեր արցախցի մարտիկները` ներգրավված լինելով հոգևորականների մահապարտների գնդի մեջ` Գարեգին արքեպիսկոպոս Հովսեփյանցի գլխավորությամբ:

Եվ այս բոլորի գլխին երջանկահիշատակ Գևորգ Ե Սուրենյանց կաթողիկոսն էր, որի փոքրիկ խոսքը պատճառ եղավ արթնացնելու, ոտքի հանելու և հաղթանակի տեսիլքը վերադարձնելու այս ժողովրդին, ասելով` ես չեմ լքի Մայր Աթոռը, այլ կնահատակվեմ այստեղ որպես գահակալ` ժողովրդին հրավիրելով տեր կանգնելու, ծառա լինելու իր սրբություններին, իր ինքնությանը, իր գոյությանը:

Այսօր մենք նույն իրականության առջև ենք ո´չ միայն արտաքին թշնամու, այլ նաև ներքին թշնամու դեմ` նախ մեր տունը ազատագրելու, և ապա մեր տունը վերականգնելու՝ մեր պատվի և մեզ հետ միասին»:
