«Սթիվ Ջոբսը՝ շրջազգեստով»․ ամենաերիտասարդ կին միլիարդատերն ու նրա հաջողությունները բժշկության մեջ (լուսանկարներ)

Էլիզաբեթ Հոլմսը բարձրահասակ շիկահեր է, գեղեցիկ աչքերով։ Նա 31 տարեկան է եւ աշխարհի ամենաերիտասարդ կին-միլիարդատերն է։ Նրան հաճախ են համեմատում Սթիվ Ջոբսի հետ։ Երկուսն էլ մանուկ հասակում շատ ժաանակ են անցկացրել միայնության մեջ։ Երկուսն էլ թողել են ուսումը։ Հոլմսը սեւ բլուզներ է կրում, միս չի ուտում, վարունգ եւ նեխուր է շատ օգտագործում եւ քիչ է քնում։ Նրա մասին գրում են հայտնի ամսագրերը, նա ամենահեղինակավոր մարդկանց ցուցակում է։ Եւ այս երիտասարդ կինը չի թաքցնում, թե ինչպես է հասել այդ ամենին։
«Ես իրականում ուզում եմ ինչ-որ նոր բան ստեղծել, որի մասին մարդկությունն անգամ գաղափար չուներ»,- այս մասին գրել էր նա հորը, երբ դեռ 9 տարեկան էր։ Նա խոստովանում է, որ տարօրինակ երեխա էր։ Նա ցանկանում էր բժիշկ դառնալ, բայց շուտով հասկանում է, որ ասեղ տեսնելիս անչափ վախենում է։ Հենց դա է դարձել պատճառ, որ նա ստեղծի Theranos ծրագիրը, որը թույլ է տալիս արյան անալիզ վերցնել միայն մատից՝ փոքրիկ ասեղի շնորհիվ։
Քիմիա ուսումնասիրելով համալսարանում՝ նա սկսել է հետեւել, թե ինչպես են արյուն վերցնում եւ մտածել, որ դա կարելի է այլ կերպ անել՝ ավելի ժամանակակից ձեւերով։ Եւ անցել է գործի։ «Էլիզաբեթը հինգ-վեց օրով սեղանի մոտից վեր չէր կենում»,- պատմում է նրա մայրը։ Չարչարանքի արդյունքը եղավ ժապավենը, որը բժշկական նյութ է արտադրում եւ հետեւում արյան մեջ փոփոխությունների ընթացքին։
19 տարեկանում Հոլմսը թողնում է համալսարանը, գումար ներդնում եւ ստեղծում այդ ժապավենն ուսւոմնասիրող ընկերություն։ Երկար ու տքնաջան աշխատանքից հետո ստեղծվում է Theranos ծրագիրը։ Այս նորամուծությունը թույլ է տալիս մեկ կաթիլ արյունով 30 թեստ անցկացնել այնպիսի տեխնոլոգիայով, որը Հոլմսը բնականաբար գաղտնի է պահում։ այդպես անալիզն ավելի արագ է, էժան ու պակաս ցավոտ։ Հոլմսն ասում է, որ մարդկանց 40 տոկոսը հրաժարվում են արյան անալիզ հանձնել, քանի որ վախենում է ծակոցից։ Այս ծրագիրը թույլ է տալիս այդ ամենն անցավ իրականացնել։
Հոլմսն արդեն 10 տարի է՝ ժամադրությունների կամ հանգստի չի գնացել, նա քրտնաջան աշխատում է, որպեսզի իր այս ծրագիրը հասանելի դառնա ոչ միայն ԱՄՆ-ում, այլեւ ողջ աշխարհում։
