«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
Այն, ինչ հունիսի 10-ի լույս 11-ի գիշերը տեղի ունեցավ «Զվարթնոց» օդանավակայանի տարածքում, առանց չափազանցության, կարևոր և առանցքային նշանակություն ունեցող վերքաղաքական իրադարձություն էր: Հազարավոր մարդիկ՝ վրդովված Հայ առաքեական եկեղեցու և Վեհափառի հասցեին Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի արած արտահայտություններից ու սպառնալիքներից, չնայած ուշ ժամին, գնացին օդանավակայան, որպեսզի դիմավորեն աշխատանքային այցից վերադարձող Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդին:
Ինչ խոսք, տպավորիչ էր տեսարանը, թե ինչպես են հազարավոր ու ամենատարբեր մարդիկ բաց երկնքի տակ միաբերան ու միակամ արտասանում Տերունական աղոթքը՝ Վեհափառի հետ:
Օդանավակայանի մոտ հավաքը, կարելի է ասել՝ ինքնաբուխ էր, չնայած տարբեր անհատների և ուժերի կողմից հնչած կոչերին: Սա այն դեպքն է, որ այդ կոչերն ավեի շուտ արտացոլեցին շատերի տրամադրությունները, ու նույնիսկ կարևոր չէ՝ ով առաջինը կոչ արեց, ով՝ երկրորդը, ով՝ երրորդը: Դա չափազանց երկրորդական այս պարագայում: Էականն այն է, որ հաշված ժամերի ընթացքում հազարավոր մարդիկ արձագանքեցին անմիջականորեն, իսկ տասնապատիկ ավելի շատ հայրենակիցներ, միանգամայն հասկանալի հանգամանքներից ելնելով (այլ քաղաքում, բնակավայրում, այլ երկրում գտնվելու կամ պարզապես փոխադրամիջոց չունենալու հանգամանքներով պայմանավորված), թեպետ ներկա չէին «Զվարթնոցում», բայց բուռն աջակցություն արտահայտեցին:
Հատկանշական է, որ փաշինյանական իշխանություններն ու հատկապես «Նիկոլից ավելի նիկոլ» սատելիտները փորձում էին հեգնել, թե «ընդամենը» մի 2 հազար մարդ էր արձագանքել... Իրականում, կարծում ենք, քպական իշխանավորներն ու նրանց ծառայողներն իրենք էլ շվարած են, թե ինչ կարգի աջակցություն է վայելում Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցին՝ որպես ազգային և հոգևոր կառույց և արժեք: Եվ այն հիստերիան, որ իբր «սարկազմով» բարձրացրել էին նրանք, ցույց տվեց իրական անհանգստությունները, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն իր նպատակին հասնել չի կարողանալու:
Իսկ հավաքն ինքնին որոշակի մեսիջներ էր պարունակում, ու ամենակարևորը սա է: Չէ, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին ու իշխանություններին ուղղված չէ, դա անիմաստ է, նրանք ո՛չ կարմիր գծեր ունեն, ո՛չ սրբություններ: Դե, բացի փողից ու իշխանությունից: Հիմնական մեսիջը, կարծում ենք, ուղղված էր բոլորին ու նաև աշխարհին, որ հայ ժողովուրդն իր արժեքներին տեր է, իր Եկեղեցու կողքին է...
