FT: страны ЕС планируют отказаться от импорта российского урана к 2030 году

Европейская комиссия (ЕК) планирует полностью отказаться от поставок ядерного топлива из России к 2030 году. Об этом сообщило издание Financial Times (FT) со ссылкой на источники.
По его данным, для реорганизации цепочек поставок топлива для атомных станций необходимы инвестиции в размере €241 млрд. Уже сейчас страны сообщества закупают уран в Казахстане, Канаде и Нигере. Однако политическая нестабильность в африканской стране, которая находится на седьмом месте по добыче урана в мире, делает дороже конечный продукт, что невыгодно Евросоюзу.
Второй проблемой ЕС остается переработка отработанного атомного топлива. По словам неназванных источников, в сообществе необходимо создать систему по утилизации отходов, которая смогла бы конкурировать с российской компанией Росатом. Однако сейчас инвестиции в эту отрасль выглядят «запаздывающими».
Все эти инициативы возникли на фоне возросшего интереса ЕС к атомной энергетике. Сейчас в сообществе функционирует 101 атомный реактор, 19 из них - советские реакторы серии ВВЭР.
