Ինչպես հայտնել է Fox News-ի թղթակից Ջեքի Հայնրիխը՝ հղում անելով Սպիտակ տան խոսնակին, մարտավարական միջուկային զենքը կարող է օգտագործվել Ֆորդոյում տեղակայված Իրանի ուրանի հարստացման գործարանը ոչնչացնելու համար։ Ըստ լրագրողի՝ իրանական միջուկային գործարանը ոչնչացնելու ունակ հակաբունկերային ռումբերի արդյունավետության առումով ամերիկացի զինվորականները ևս կասկած չունեն։
Ավելի վաղ բրիտանական The Guardian պարբերականը գրել էր, որ զինվորականները Ֆորդոյի օբյեկտը ոչնչացնելու միակ միջոցը համարում են մարտավարական միջուկային զենքով հարվածը, սակայն Դոնալդ Թրամփը հրաժարվում է քննարկել այդ տարբերակը։
Ըստ The Wall Street Journal-ի՝ Թրամփը հունիսի 17-ին հաստատել է Իրանի դեմ ռազմական հարվածի ծրագիրը, սակայն դեռևս հրաման չի տվել այն իրականացնելու համար՝ ակնկալելով, որ Թեհրանը կամավոր կհրաժարվի իր միջուկային ծրագրից։ Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Քերոլայն Լևիթը հայտարարել է, որ Թրամփը երկու շաբաթվա ընթացքում որոշում կընդունի՝ արդյոք Միացյալ Նահանգները կհարվածի՞ Իրանին, թե՞ ոչ, գրում է գերմանական Deutsche Welle պարբերականը։
