ԱՄՆ Տեխաս նահանգում տեղատարափ անձրևների հետևանքով առաջացած ջրհեղեղներից բազմաթիվ մահվան դեպքեր են գրանցվել, որոնողական խմբերն ուրբաթ օրը փրկարարական աշխատանքներ իրականացնելու համար նավակներ են օգտագործել, քանի որ արագ հոսող ջուրը սպառնում է վայրի կենդանիների բնակավայրերի մոտ գտնվող ափամերձ համայնքներին, հաղորդում է Associated Press-ը։

Գիշերը Քեր շրջանի կենտրոնում, ընդամենը մի քանի ժամվա ընթացքում, տեղացել է մինչև 25 սանտիմետր տեղատարափ անձրև, ինչի հետևանքով Գվադալուպե գետը հանկարծակի դուրս է եկել ափերից։ Դատավոր Ռոբ Քելլին, շրջանի բարձրագույն ընտրված պաշտոնյան, հաստատել է ջրհեղեղի զոհերի թիվը և ջրից տասնյակ մարդկանց փրկելու փաստերը։ Նա նշել է, որ իրեն խորհուրդ են տվել կոնկրետ թվեր չնշել, և որ իշխանությունները դեռևս աշխատում են զոհվածների ինքնությունը պարզելու ուղղությամբ։

Պաշտոնյաները տասնյակ փրկարարական գործողություններ են իրականացրել, և արտակարգ իրավիճակներին արձագանքը շարունակվել է, քանի որ անհայտ թվով մարդիկ դեռևս անհայտ կորած են համարվում։

Հինգշաբթի կեսօրին հրապարակված ջրհեղեղի մասին զեկույցում նշվում է, որ որոշ վայրերում ջրի մակարդակը բարձրացել է մինչև 17 սանտիմետրով։ Գիշերվա ընթացքում դա հանգեցրել է ջրհեղեղի մասին նախազգուշացման առնվազն 30 հազար մարդու համար։

Տեխասի նահանգապետ Գրեգ Էբբոթը հայտարարել է, որ նահանգը ռեսուրսներ է տրամադրում ջրհեղեղներից տուժած լեռնային համայնքներին, ներառյալ՝ Քերվիլի, Ինգրամի և Հանթի համայնքներին։

Օսթինի/Սան Անտոնիոյի Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայության օդերևութաբան Բոբ Ֆոգարտին հայտնել է, որ Հանթ չմիավորված համայնքի տարածքով հոսող Գվադալուպե գետի ճյուղավորման հատվածում, սնդիկի մակարդակն ընդամենը երկու ժամվա ընթացքում բարձրացել է 6,7 մետրով: Ֆոգարտին նշել է, որ 9 մետր մակարդակի գրանցումից հետո սենսորը խափանվել է։
