Ադրբեջանում ապրող ինգիլոյները ժամանակի ընթացքում ձուլվել են վրացիների և թուրքերի հետ

Ներկայում Ադրբեջանական Հանրապետության տարածքում ապրող էթնիկ, աբորիգեն ժողովուրդներից են ինգիլոյները, որոնք Ավղանքի 26 ցեղերից են, որոնք ժամանակի ընթացքում ձուլվել են վրացիների, թուրքերի և այդ տարածքներում ապրող այլ ժողովուրդների հետ։ Պատմական աղբյուրներում ինգիլոյները հիշատակվում են գիլ/գել անվանմամբ։ Այժմ ինգիլոյները հոծ զանգվածով ապրում են Ադրբեջանի հյուսիսային շրջաններում՝ Բալակենում, Զաքաթալայում և Կախում: Բացի այդ, ինգիլոյներն ապրում են նաև Թուրքիայում և Վարաստանում։

Ինգիլոյների լեզուն պատկանում է Կովկասյան լեզվաընտանիքին և մոտ է վրացերենին, այդ իսկ պատճառով ինգիլոյներին շատ հաճախ նույնացնում են վրացիների հետ։ Խորհրդային շրջանի մարդահամարներում ինգիլոյները՝ որպես առանձին ժողովուրդ, չեն նշվում, նրանց նույնացնում էին կա՛մ վրացիների, կա՛մ ադրբեջանցիների հետ։

Հավատքի առումով ինգիլոները բաժանվում են երկու խմբի. մեծամասնությունը սուննի մուսուլմաններ են (ինգիոլոյները իսլամ են ընդունել 16-17-րդ դարերում), կան նաև ուղղափառ քրիստոնյաներ, որոնք Վրաց ուղղափառ եկեղեցու հետևորդներ են։ Ադրբեջանում քրիստոնյա ինգիլոյները հիմնականում բնակվում են Կախի շրջանում։

Հատկանշական է, որ Ադրբեջանում անցկացված վիճակագրական տվյալներում այժմ էլ այդ ժողովրդին որպես վրացիներ են ներկայացնում։

Ինգիլոյներին տեղի բնիկ ժողովորդերն անվանում են նաև գելեր, գելոյներ և գելովներ։
