ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆը դատապարտել է Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիան հայկական կողմի նկատմամբ և հորդորել ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի ԱՄՆ համանախագահ Ջեյմս Ուորլիքին դադարեցնել կեղծ հավասարակշռություն պահպանել ԼՂ հակամարտության հարցում: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին Շիֆը խոսել է Asbarez պարբերականի խմբագիր Արա Խաչատուրյանի հետ զրույցում` անդրադառնալով նաև Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցում ԱՄՆ դիրքորոշմանը:
Շիֆն ընդգծել է, որ մինչ Ուորլիքն իր ելույթներում հայտարարում է, թե երկու կողմն էլ բռնության են դիմում և խախտում հրադադարի ռեժիմը, իրականությունն այն է, որ հենց Ադրբեջանն է այս ամենի պատասխանատու կողմը: «Ես գրել եմ դեսպանին 2015 թվականի սեպտեմբերին` իմ մտահոգությունը հայտնելով այս հավասարության քաղաքականության առնչությամբ, քանի որ դրանք հավասարազոր գործողություններ չեն: Ադրբեջանը կրակում է հրետանուց, շփման գծում կիրառում է դիպուկահարների և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում սպանում զինվորների, ինչը չափազանց վտանգավոր է»,- ասել է Շիֆը` հավելÕ �լով, որ չափազանց կարևոր է, որ Ուորլիքն ավելի հստակ հայտարարություններով հանդես գա:
ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականը հարցազրույցի ժամանակ անդարդարձել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբամայի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման հարցին` նշելով, որ Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահի պաշտոնը վերջին տարին զբաղեցնող Օբամայի համար այս ապրիլի 24-ը լավագույն հնարավորությունն է համապատասխան ելույթ ունենալու և Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու համար:
Խոսելով նախագահի նախընտրական քարոզարշավի շրջանակում Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու վերաբերյալ թեկնածուների հնարավոր խոստումներին` Շիֆը նշել է, որ նախորդ տարիների փորձ հաշվի` առնելով բավական կասկածամտորեն է դրանց մոտենում: «Կարծում եմ, որ հայ համայնքը նախագահի թեկնածուի ընտրության հարցում պետք է ուշադրություն դարձնի ավելի որոշիչ գործոնների, և չվստահի, թե թեկնածուն ինչ կասի Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ: Ցավալի իրականություն է, սակայն սա ապացուցված է պատամականորեն»,- ընդգծել է կոնգրեսականը:
