Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության Անվտանգության խորհրդի բարեփոխման հարցը իսկապես հասունացած է, բայց դրա համար անհրաժեշտ է ՄԱԿ-ի անդամ պետությունների ճնշող մեծամասնության համաձայնությունը, որը ձեռք կբերվի բանակցությունների միջոցով։ 

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն՝ մեջբերելով Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության փոխարտգործնախարար Սերգեյ Վերշինինի հայտարարությունը։  

«Այս դեպքում կարող եմ ասել, որ ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի բարեփոխման հարցը Նյու Յորքում քննարկվում է շատ երկար ժամանակ։ Եվ սրանք իսկապես հասունացած հարցեր են։ Մենք կարծում ենք, որ բոլոր կլաստերներում Անվտանգության խորհրդի բարեփոխումների մասին հարցերը բարդ են, քանի որ խոսքը ոչ միայն Անվտանգության խորհրդի կազմի, այլև վետոյի, Անվտանգության խորհրդում և Գլխավոր ասամբլեայում հարաբերակցության մասին է։ Եվ մենք կարծում ենք, որ պետք է շատ զգույշ լինենք դրա հետ, քանի որ իրականում կարևոր է անել դա ավելի լավ, այլ ոչ թե ավելի վատ», - ասել է Վերշինինը։ 

Նրա բնորոշմամբ՝ անհրաժեշտ է նախատեսել Ասիայի, Աֆրիկայի, Լատինական Ամերիկայի, բայց առաջին հերթին՝ Աֆրիկայի երկրների ներկայացվածության աճ, քանի որ այն ժամանակ, երբ Անվտանգության խորհուրդը ստեղծվել է որպես աշխարհում խաղաղության և անվտանգության պահպանման առաջատար մարմին, շատ երկրներ պարզապես գոյություն չեն ունեցել, իսկ հիմա կա բոլորովին նոր մթնոլորտ և նոր պայմաններ։
