Հուլիսի 15-ից 17-ը Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ դեսպանության և ԱՄՆ Անվտանգային կառավարման ինստիտուտի համատեղ ջանքերով տեղի է ունեցել «Աղետների կառավարման կարողությունների վերլուծման, վտանգների նույնականացման, ռիսկերի գնահատման» հարցերին նվիրված աշխատաժողով։

Մասնակցել են ՀՀ տարբեր նախարարությունների, այդ թվում՝ ՆԳ նախարարության, կոմիտեների, Գիտությունների ազգային ակադեմիայի և Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայության ներկայացուցիչներ։

Եռօրյա աշխատաժողովի ընթացքում քննարկվել և վերլուծվել են աղետների ռիսկերի բացահայտմանը, բացթողումների նույնականացմանը, գործառնական ռազմավարություններին, ծրագրերի վերահսկմանը, գնահատմանն ու ճշգրտմանը վերաբերող հարցեր: 

Ուսումնասիրվել է աղետների ազդեցությունն ազգային, տարածաշրջանային և տեղական մակարդակներում, ինչը հիմնարար նշանակություն ունի Հայաստանում արտակարգ իրավիճակների կառավարման համար: 

Աշխատաժողովի մասնակիցները, ձեռքբերած գիտելիքների և ամերիկյան փորձի կիրառմամբ, կազմել են հատուկ կարողությունների բացահայտման և փաստաթղթերի մշակման աղյուսակ: 

Ակտիվորեն գնահատելով աղետների սպառնալիքի, վտանգի և ռիսկերի ազդեցությունները՝ Հայաստանը կարող է կառուցել ավելի դիմակայուն համայնքներ և ամրապնդել աղետներին արձագանքելու և հետևանքները վերացնելու կարողությունները։ 

Աշխատաժողովի մասնակիցները ստացել են հավաստագրեր։
