Բաքվի բանտում պահվող հայ գերիների հարազատներին միջազգային Կարմիր խաչից փոխանցել են՝ այլևս չեն այցելելու գերիներին:
«Մեզ՝ ընդհանուր բոլոր գերիների հարազատներին, ասել են, որ Կարմիր խաչը ընդհանրապես չի այցելելու, էլ հարաբերություն չունենք գերիների հետ», - «Ազատությանն» ասել է գերիներից մեկի հարազատը:
Գերիների հարազատների շրջանում այս լուրը լուրջ մտահոգություն է առաջացրել, քանի որ Կարմիր խաչը միակ կառույցն էր, որ կարողանում էր այցելել Բաքվի բանտերում պահվող հայերին, տեղեկանալ նրանց իրական վիճակին, զբաղվել առողջական խնդիրների լուծմամբ, անհրաժեշտ հագուստ ու հիգիենայի պարագաներ փոխանցել, ինչպես նաև տեսակապ ապահովել հարազատների հետ
Ինչպես «Ազատության» հետ զրույցում փոխանցեց գերիներից մեկի հարազատը՝ «թե՛ իրենց, և թե՛ գերիների վերջին հույսն» էլ մարեց. - «Էդ կապը, Կարմիր խաչը մեծ հույս էր մեզ համար և իրենց համար, որ էլ չկա, մենք արդեն 99 տոկոս հույսից կտրվել ենք, հա՛մ մենք, հա՛մ գերիները: Միակ միջոցը Կարմիր խաչն էր, որ ընտանիքների հետ կապում էր, մի քիչ էդ մարդկանց մոտ լույս էր վառվում, էդ էլ անջատեցիք, էդ էլ կտրեցիք»:
