Իսրայելի ազգային անվտանգության նախարար Իտամար Բեն Գվիրը աղոթքի համար բարձրացել է Տաճարի լեռ, որտեղ հայտարարել է, որ պետք է գրավել ամբողջ Գազայի հատվածը:

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտնում է Ynet պորտալը՝ մանրամասնելով, որ դեպքի վայրից կադրերում երևում է, թե ինչպես է նախարարն աղոթում Տաճարի լեռ բարձրացած այլ հրեաների հետ:

Իր այցի ընթացքում Բեն Գվիրն, անդրադառնալով ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի գործողություններին, համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ նրա նպատակն է ճնշում գործադրել Իսրայելի վրա: 

Նա հայտարարել է, որ պետք է գրավել  ամբողջ Գազայի հատվածը և Իսրայելի իրավազորությունը տարածել այնտեղ, ինչպես նաև վտարել ՀԱՄԱՍ-ի բոլոր կողմնակիցներին և խրախուսել կամավոր ներգաղթը։ 

Նշվում է, որ սա առաջին դեպքը չէ, երբ Բեն Գվիրը բարձրացել է Տաճարի լեռ՝ երկուսուկես ամիս առաջ պաշտոնը ստանձնելուց ի վեր։ 

Ավելի ուշ՝ վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուի  գրասենյակը հայտարարել է, որ Իսրայելի քաղաքականությունը՝ պահպանելու Տաճարի լեռան վրա ստատուս քվոն, չի փոխվել և չի փոխվի։ 

Ըստ Տաճարի լեռան ներկայիս ստատուս քվոյի՝ այնտեղ միայն մուսուլմանները կարող են աղոթել, մինչդեռ այլ կրոնների հետևորդները, այդ թվում՝ հրեաները, կարող են այցելել միայն որպես զբոսաշրջիկներ՝ առանց կրոնական արարողություններ կատարելու։
