Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը շահագրգռված է Հարավային Կովկասում կայունության և բարգավաճման գոտու ձևավորմամբ։ Ամենակարևոր պայմաններից մեկը Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի միջև հարաբերությունների համապարփակ կարգավորումն է՝ հիմնված երկու երկրների ժողովուրդների շահերի վրա։ Մենք հետևողականորեն աջակցում ենք բոլոր ջանքերին, որոնք նպաստում են տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության այս կարևոր նպատակի իրականացմանը։ Այս առումով, Վաշինգտոնում ամերիկյան կողմի միջնորդությամբ կայացած՝ Հարավային Կովկասի հանրապետությունների՝ Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարների հանդիպումը արժանի է դրական գնահատականի։ Մենք հույս ունենք, որ այս քայլը կնպաստի խաղաղության օրակարգի առաջխաղացմանը»,- այս մասին նշել է Ռուսաստանի ԱԳՆ պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովան՝ անդրադառնալով Վաշինգթոնում Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի ղեկավարների բանակցություններին։
 
«Հարկ է հիշել, որ հայ-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունների կարգավորման ներկա փուլը սկսվել է Ռուսաստանի անմիջական աջակցությամբ և կենտրոնական դերակատարմամբ՝ 2020 թվականի նոյեմբերի 9-ին ամենաբարձր մակարդակով եռակողմ հայտարարության ընդունմամբ՝ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության գոտում հրադադարի և բոլոր ռազմական գործողությունների վերաբերյալ։
 
Տարածաշրջանում տեղակայվել է ռուսական խաղաղապահ զորախումբ, որը անփոխարինելի ներդրում է ունեցել իրավիճակի կայունացման գործում։ Մենք միշտ կհիշենք մեր խաղաղապահներին, որոնք զոհվել են ծառայողական պարտականությունները կատարելիս»,- ընդգծել է դիվանագետը։
 
«Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունը լրացուցիչ կվերլուծի Վաշինգթոնի հայտարարությունները Հարավային Կովկասում տարածաշրջանային հաղորդակցությունների ապաշրջափակման վերաբերյալ։ Հարավային Կովկասում հաղորդակցությունների ապաշրջափակման ոլորտում Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության մասնակցությամբ եռակողմ համաձայնագրերը շարունակում են արդիական մնալ»,- նշել է Զախարովան՝ հավելելով՝ կարևոր է նաև հաշվի առնել Հայաստանի անդամակցության գործոնը ԵԱՏՄ-ին, մասնավորապես՝ հանրապետության տարածքով տարանցիկ բեռնափոխադրումների կազմակերպման առումով, անհնար է նաև անտեսել այն փաստը, որ Իրանի հետ Հայաստանի սահմանը պահպանում են ռուս սահմանապահները։
