Մեծ Բրիտանիայում շքեղ ժամացույցների սեփականատերերի համար արթնացման կոչ հնչեց հուլիսի սկզբին, երբ Լոնդոնում իր ոսկե Rolex-ի համար սպանված 24-ամյա երկու երեխաների հայր Բլու Սթիվենսի ողբերգական պատմությունը կրկին ընդգծեց աշխարհի խոշոր քաղաքներում փողոցային գողության աճող սպառնալիքը։

Վերջին յոթ տարիների ընթացքում հանցագործությունների վիճակագրությունը հանգեցրել է մտահոգիչ վերափոխման՝ 2019 թվականի համավարակից առաջ անամոթ կողոպուտների հիմնական թիրախ հանդիսացող ոսկերչական խանութներից մինչև ժամացույցների սեփականատերերի վրա փողոցային հարձակումներ, որոնք հաճախ տեղի են ունենում ցերեկով և որոնց մասնակցում են զինված հանցագործներ մոպեդներով, գրում է Robb Report-ը։

Watch Register-ի՝ գողացված ժամացույցների բացառիկ տվյալների բազայի և վերականգնման ծառայության կառավարիչ տնօրեն Կատյա Հիլսը նշում է, որ նման հանցագործությունները հատկապես հաճախակի են դարձել Լոնդոնի և Բարսելոնայի բարձրակարգ թաղամասերում, որտեղ զբոսաշրջիկները հաճախ հեշտ զոհ են հանցավոր ցանցերի համար։ Ժամացույցները անմիջապես հանձնվում են այսպես կոչված «վաճառքի» գործակալներին և արագորեն անհետանում իրավապահ մարմինների տեսադաշտից։
