Թենեսիի Չաթանուգա քաղաքում երեքշաբթի գիշերը տեղի ունեցած հորդառատ անձրևներից և անսպպասելի ջրհեղեղներից հետո առնվազն երեք մարդ է զոհվել:  Ջրհեղեղների հետևանքով փակվել են միջպետական ճանապարհները, ավտոմեքենաները մնացել են խրված և անհրաժեշտ է եղել անհապաղ ջրային փրկարարական աշխատանքներ կատարել, հաղորդում է NBC News-ն։

Չորեքշաբթի առավոտյան Իսթ Ռիջում երկու չափահասներից և մեկ երեխայից բաղկացած ընտանիք է զոհվել, երբ ծառն ընկել է նրանց ավտոմեքենայի վրա, հայտնել են Համիլթոն շրջանի արտակարգ իրավիճակների կառավարման և ներքին անվտանգության գրասենյակից։

Ներկայացուցիչները հայտնել են, որ ջրհեղեղի հետևանքով առնվազն մեկ մարդ անհայտ կորած է համարվում։

Դեպքի վայր ժամանած փրկարարները տեսել են, որ ջրհեղեղի ջուրը քշել է մի տղամարդու և փորձել են նրան գտնել մոտորանավակով, բայց չեն կարողացել հասնել նրան։

Երեքշաբթի Չաթանուգա օդանավակայանում 6,42 դյույմ անձրև է տեղացել, ինչը քաղաքի պատմության մեջ երկրորդ ամենախոնավ օրն է 1879 թվականից ի վեր, հայտնել է Մորիստաունի Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայության գրասենյակը։ Համիլթոն շրջանի քաղաքապետ Ուեսթոն Ուոմպը արտակարգ դրություն է հայտարարել անսպասելի ջրհեղեղի պատճառով։ Ցեխախառն ջրհեղեղի ջրերը մայրուղիները վերածել են գետերի։
