Օգոստոսի 16-ին` գիշերվա ժամը 2.39-ին, Ոստիկանության օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոն է զանգահարել Երևանի Չարենցի փողոցի մի բնակիչ և հայտնել, որ իրենց բակում արնաքամվող քաղաքացի կա։

Րոպեներ անց արդեն ստացվել է հաղորդում, որ շտապօգնության խումբը հրազենային վիրավորման կանչով մեկնել է Չարենցի փողոց։
Դեպքի վայր է մեկնել Քրեական ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչության օպերատիվ խումբը: Պարզվել է, որ հրազենային վիրավորում ստացած անձը Արմավիր քաղաքի բնակիչ է, 34-ամյա Սուրեն Սարգսյանը, որը տեղում մահացել է։

Կազմված փաստաթղթերը փոխանցվել են Կենտրոն և Նորք Մարաշ վարչական շրջանների քննչական բաժին, որտեղ սպանության հատկանիշներով նախաձեռնվել է քրեական վարույթ:

Քրեական ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչության մարդու դեմ ուղղված հանցագործությունների դեմ պայքարի բաժնի ծառայողներն օպերատիվ-հետախուզական միջոցառումների արդյունքում պարզեցին դեպքի հանագամանքները։

Նախնական տվյալներով՝ օգոստոսի 16-ին` ժամը 2-ի սահմաններում, Չարենցի փողոցի բնակիչ 37-ամյա մի տղամարդ Սուրեն Սարգսյանի և մի երրորդ անձի հետ գտնվել է իր ավտոտնակում, որտեղ իր «Սայգա» տիպի` առանց փամփշտատուփի հրացանը ցույց տալու պատրվակով տվել է Սուրեն Սարգսյանին, ապա այն վերցնելով` կյանքից զրկելու դիտավորությամբ կրակել է նրա կրծքավանդակին, ինչից հետո 37-ամյա տղամարդն ու երրորդ անձը դիմել են փախուստի։

Հանցագործության գործիքը հայտնաբերվել է։

Օգոստոսի 19-ին հսկող դատախազը կայացրել է Չարենցի բնակիչ 37-ամյա տղամարդու նկատմամբ հանրային քրեական հետապնդում հարուցելու որոշում՝ սպանության հատկանիշներով։

Օգոստոսի 20-ին` ժամը 10.30-ին, Երևանի քրեական ոստիկանները Խանջյան փողոցում ձերբակալել են 37-ամյա տղամարդուն ու ներկայացրել նախաքննական մարմին։
Ձեռնարկվում են օպերատիվ-հետախուզական միջոցառումներ գործի մյուս հանգամանքները պարզելու ուղղությամբ։
