Ամերիկյան Forbes ամսագիրը մեծ հոդված է նվիրել հայկական գինեգործությանը՝ երկիրը անվանելով «գինու ծննդավայրի նոր հավանական թագակիր»։
Հոդվածի հեղինակը՝ լրագրող Լեյն Ռանդոլֆը, գրում է. «Հայկական գինու պատմությունը ընդգրկում է 6000 տարի՝ սկսած Արենի-1 քարանձավից՝ աշխարհի ամենահին գինեգործարանից, մինչև ժամանակակից վերածնունդ, որը փոխում է դրա գլոբալ ապագան»։
20-րդ դարի ընթացքում Հայաստանը կապված էր ոչ թե գինու, այլ կոնյակի հետ։ Խորհրդային կառավարությունը խաղադրույքներ էր կատարում կոնյակի արտադրության վրա։ Forbes-ը հիշում է մի անեկդոտային մանրամասնություն. «Մեծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Ուինսթոն Չերչիլը սիրահարվեց հայկական ArArAt կոնյակին, երբ Ստալինը նրան հյուրասիրեց այն Յալթայում՝ 1945 թվականին։ Պատերազմից հետո Չերչիլին տարեկան ուղարկում էին 400 շիշ»։
Այս պատկերը արմատավորվել է. Հայաստանը կոնյակի երկիր է։ Սակայն այսօր, ինչպես գրում է Ռանդոլֆը, երկիրն ունի «նոր մականուն՝ գինու ծննդավայր»։
«Գերագույնության համար պայքարում» հիմնական փաստարկը Վայոց ձորի Արենի-1 քարանձավում հայտնաբերումն էր։ 2007 թվականին Կալիֆոռնիայի համալսարանի հնագետները այնտեղ հայտնաբերեցին կավե մամլիչ, խմորման անոթներ և խաղողի կորիզներ։
«Առաջին անգամ մենք ունենք գինեգործության ամբողջական հնագիտական պատկեր, որը թվագրվում է 6100 տարի առաջ», - Forbes-ը մեջբերում է հնագետ Գրիգորի Արեշյանին։
Հոդվածում ընդգծվում է, որ սրանք վերացական լեգենդներ չեն, այլ գիտական ապացույցներ, որ գինեգործությունը Հայաստանում ունի շարունակական պատմություն՝ հնագույն ժամանակներից մինչև մեր օրերը։
Ժամանակակից հայկական գինեգործությունը հիմնված է բնիկ տեսակների վրա՝ արենի, ոսկեգույն հատապտուղ («ոսկե հատապտուղ»), խաթունի։ Արտադրողները վերադառնում են ավանդական մեթոդներին, ինչպիսիք են կարասեներում կամ հողի մեջ թաղված կավե անոթներում հասունացումը։
Ռանդոլֆը նշում է գինու նոր ասպարեզը ձևավորող անուններն ու ապրանքանիշերը.
- Zorah Wines – հնեցնում է արենաները կարասեներում և արժանանում միջազգային մրցանակների։
- InVino – առաջին գինու բարը Երևանում, որտեղ գինու մշակույթը դարձել է քաղաքի կյանքի մի մասը։
- Gevorkian Winery – փորձարկումներ է անում պետնատների ստեղծման և հին տեխնոլոգիաների վերականգնման ուղղությամբ։ -
Krya – վերականգնում է լքված խաղողի այգիները Վայոց Ձորում։
«Ի տարբերություն իր հարևանների՝ Վրաստանի կամ Թուրքիայի, Հայաստանը կարող է մատնանշել որոշակի հնագիտական վայր՝ մամլիչով, անոթով և խաղողի ԴՆԹ-ով՝ կապելով անցյալը ներկայի հետ», - ընդգծում է Լեյն Ռանդոլֆը։
Հենց հնության և արդիականության այս համադրությունն է, որը հայկական գինեգործությունը դարձնում է եզակի և գրավիչ աշխարհի համար։ Վերջին տասնամյակում գինու արտահանումը կրկնապատկվել է, և «Արտադրված է Հայաստանում» պիտակով շշերը այժմ կարելի է գտնել Փարիզից մինչև Լոս Անջելես։
