5,1 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Թայվան կղզու արեւելյան ափի մոտ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հաղորդել է ԱՄՆ-ի Երկրաբանական ծառայությունը:
Ստորգետնյա ցնցումները գրանցվել են Երեւանի ժամանակով ժամը 04:47-ին Խուալյան քաղաքից մոտավորապես 17 կիլոմետր հարավ-արեւելք ընկած շրջանում: Երկրաշարժի օջախը գտնվում էր 11,3 կիլոմետր խորության վրա:
Հնարավոր տուժածների ու ավերածությունների վերաբերյալ տվյալներ առայժմ չեն ստացվել:
Փետրվարի 5-ին 6,4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ էր տեղի ունեցել Թայվանի հարավային մասում, որի զոհ է դարձել 40 մարդ: Ներկայում փրկարարները փորձում են ավերված շենքերի փլատակներից դուրս բերել եւս ավելի քան 100 մարդու, հաղորդել է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
