Գիտնականների միջազգային թիմը մշակել է մի գործիք, որը կօգնի ավելի արագ և ճշգրիտ ուսումնասիրել «տիեզերական ցանցը»՝ գալակտիկաների և դատարկությունների հսկայական ցանցը, որը կազմում է Տիեզերքի կառուցվածքը: Effort.jl անվամբ նոր ծրագիրը կարող է կատարել հաշվարկներ, որոնք նախկինում պահանջում էին գերհամակարգիչներ ընդամենը մի քանի րոպեում՝ սովորական նոութբուքի վրա: Աշխատանքը հրապարակվել է «Տիեզերագիտության և աստղամասնիկների ֆիզիկայի հանդեսում» (JCAP):

Տիեզերքի մեծածավալ կառուցվածքի մոդելների կառուցումը չափազանց ռեսուրսատար խնդիր է: Առավել առաջադեմ տեսություններից մեկը՝ մեծածավալ կառուցվածքի արդյունավետ դաշտի տեսությունը, վիճակագրորեն նկարագրում է Տիեզերքի «կմախքը»՝ կապելով դիտարկման տվյալները հիմնարար ֆիզիկայի հետ: Այնուամենայնիվ, անընդհատ աճող տվյալների հավաքածուների մշակումը, ինչպիսիք են DESI նախագծի կամ Եվրոպական Էվկլիդես առաքելության տվյալները, պահանջում է հսկայական հաշվողական հզորություն:

Գիտնականի խոսքով՝ Effort.jl-ը եզակի է նրանով, որ օգտագործում է այն գիտելիքները, թե ինչպես են կանխատեսումները փոխվում պարամետրերի փոփոխության հետ մեկտեղ։ Սա թույլ է տալիս համակարգին մարզվել շատ ավելի փոքր օրինակների վրա՝ խնայելով ռեսուրսներ։ Ավելին, որոշ դեպքերում էմուլյատորը ցույց է տվել նույնիսկ ավելի մեծ ճշգրտություն, քան մոդելն ինքը, քանի որ թույլ է տվել ներառել վերլուծության այն մասերը, որոնք սովորաբար բաց կթողնվեին արագության համար։
