Իրանի Ազգային անվտանգության գերագույն խորհուրդը (ԱՆԽ) շաբաթ օրը հայտարարել է, որ ԵՄ3-ի կողմից ձեռնարկված գործողություններից հետո Կահիրեում Ատոմային էներգիայի միջազգային գործակալության (ԱԷՄԳ) հետ վերջերս ստորագրված համագործակցության համաձայնագիրը կդադարեցվի։

Ավելի վաղ, Իրանի փոխարտգործնախարար Քազեմ Ղարիբաբադին հայտարարել էր, որ եթե հաջորդ շաբաթ  «վերականգնման» մեխանիզմն ակտիվանա, ապա Կահիրեում ԱԷՄԳ-ի հետ Իրանի վերջերս կնքված համաձայնագիրը կդադարեցվի։

ԱԽ-ն հետագայում չկարողացավ ընդունել բանաձև, որը նպատակ ուներ կանխել Իրանի դեմ ՄԱԿ-ի պատժամիջոցների վերականգնումը՝ միջուկային ծրագրի պատճառով, այն բանից հետո, երբ շաբաթներ տևած բանակցությունները, կարծես, փակուղի մտան Գլխավոր ասամբլեայում համաշխարհային առաջնորդների տարեկան հանդիպումից ընդամենը մի քանի օր առաջ։

Պատժամիջոցներ չկիրառելու առաջարկով բանաձևը ներկայացրել էր Հարավային Կորեան՝ 15 անդամից բաղկացած Անվտանգության խորհրդի ներկայիս նախագահը։

Սեուլը չկարողացավ ապահովել ինը երկրների աջակցությունը, որոնք անհրաժեշտ էին ամսվա վերջին մի շարք պատասխան պատժամիջոցների կիրառումը դադարեցնելու համար։

Միայն չորս երկիր՝ Չինաստանը, Ռուսաստանը, Պակիստանը և Ալժիրը, աջակցեցին պատժամիջոցներից ազատման ժամկետի երկարաձգմանը։

Անցյալ ամիս Ֆրանսիան, Գերմանիան և Մեծ Բրիտանիան ակտիվացրին «snapback» միջոցառումը, որն ավտոմատ կերպով վերականգնում է ՄԱԿ-ի բոլոր պատժամիջոցները, որոնք գործում էին 2015 թվականի միջուկային համաձայնագրից առաջ։

Այս պատժամիջոցները ներառում էին սովորական զենքի էմբարգո, բալիստիկ հրթիռների մշակման սահմանափակումներ, ակտիվների սառեցում, ճանապարհորդության արգելքներ և միջուկային տեխնոլոգիաների արտադրության արգելք։
