ՆԱՏՕ-ի հետախուզական ինքնաթիռում, որը թռչում էր մոտ 10,000 մետր բարձրության վրա՝ արևելյան Լեհաստանի վրայով, վեց երկրների ռազմաօդային ուժերի սպաները սկանավորել են իրենց էկրանները՝ ռուսական ինքնաթիռների կողմից Դաշինքի սահմանների խախտման նշաններ հայտնաբերելու համար, հաղորդում է AFP-ը։ 

Սպառնալիքը հայտնաբերվել է ուրբաթ օրը, երբ երկու ռուսական կործանիչներ 12 րոպեով խախտել են Էստոնիայի օդային տարածքը՝ ստիպելով ՆԱՏՕ-ին թռիչքներ կատարել և խուճապ առաջացնել ամբողջ Եվրոպայում, նշել է ՆԱՏՕ-ն։

Երկինքն այժմ ավելի հանգիստ էր թվում, բայց անձնակազմը շարունակում էր զգոն մնալ։

«Եթե ՆԱՏՕ-ի համար որևէ օդային սպառնալիք առաջանա, մենք ցանկանում ենք ապահովել, որ այն հնարավորինս արագ հայտնաբերենք», - AFP-ի լրագրողներին ասել է գերմանացի սպա, փոխգնդապետ Մայք Բելիզերը, որին բացառիկ մուտք է տրվել թռիչքին։ «Մեր աշխատանքն է վաղ նախազգուշացում տրամադրել, որպեսզի լիազորված հրամանատարներն ավելի շատ ժամանակ ունենան որոշելու, թե ինչպես արձագանքել»։

Գերմանիայի բազայից դեպի արևելյան Լեհաստանի վրայով ութժամյա թռիչքը առաջին դեպքն էր, երբ ՆԱՏՕ-ի սեփականության տակ գտնվող 14 AWACS օդային վաղ նախազգուշացման և կառավարման ինքնաթիռներից մեկը թռավ Արևելյան պահապան առաքելության հովանու ներքո։

Ինքնաթիռի հսկայական ռադարը, որը ՆԱՏՕ-ն անվանում է «աչքեր երկնքում», ունի մոտավորապես 500 կիլոմետր հեռահարություն, ինչը թույլ է տալիս անձնակազմին դիտարկել թշնամական տարածքները Բելառուսում և Ռուսաստանի Կալինինգրադի մարզում։
