Կոլումբիայի նախագահ Գուստավո Պետրոն կոչ է արել քրեական հետապնդում սկսել ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի և նրա վարչակազմի մի քանի պաշտոնյաների դեմ՝ Կարիբյան ծովում նավերի վրա հարձակումներից հետո։
«Քրեական հետապնդում պետք է հարուցվի ԱՄՆ պաշտոնյաների, այդ թվում՝ նույնիսկ հրաման տված ամենաբարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյայի՝ նախագահ Թրամփի դեմ», - ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի ամբիոնից ասել է Պետրոն։
Կոլումբիայի նախագահը ոչնչացված նավերի ուղևորներին անվանել է «ոչ թե թմրանյութերի ապօրինի շրջանառություն իրականացնողներ, այլ պարզապես Լատինական Ամերիկայից եկած աղքատ երիտասարդներ, ովքեր այլ ընտրություն չեն ունեցել»։
2025 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 2-ին, 16-ին և 19-ին ԱՄՆ-ն Կարիբյան ծովում նավերի է հարվածել։ Տասնյոթ մարդ զոհվել է։ Թրամփի վարչակազմը հայտնել էր, որ նավերը թմրանյութեր են տեղափոխել։ Թրամփը նշել էր, որ սեպտեմբերի 2-ին ոչնչացված նավը պատկանում էր վենեսուելական թմրամիջոցների կարտելին, որը ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից ճանաչվել է որպես ահաբեկչական կազմակերպություն։
