«Ուխտաձոր գյուղը գտնվում է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հադրութի շրջանում՝ Իշխանագետի հովտում՝ շրջկենտրոնից 31, իսկ մայրաքաղաք Ստեփանակերտից` 72 կմ հեռավորության վրա: Գյուղը լեռնային է, ունի 902,0 հա տարածք, որից 720,3 հա գյուղատնտեսական նշանակության, իսկ 119,1 հա անտառային հողեր։ Ուխտաձորի տարածքով հոսում է Ճղացեն ծորին գետակը։
Ըստ գյուղի հին գերեզմանոցում պահպանված 15–րդ դարի թաղումների վկայագրությունների՝ գյուղը գոյություն ունի առնվազն միջինադարից։ Մակար Բարխուդարյանը գյուղը հիշատակում է որպես Իտելեցիք:
Գյուղը հարուստ է պատմամշակութային հուշարձաններով, որոնցից են 1692 թ․ կառուցված Սբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցին, 17-19-րդ դարերի Ըխտածոր (Ուխտաձոր) և 15-18րդ դարերի Քմախաչ սրբավայրերը, գյուղի դիմաց գտնվող լեռան վրա՝ Կավաք սրբատեղին (Կավաքավանք), 17-19-րդ դարերի գերեզմանոցը և այլն։
Սբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցին գտնվում է Ուխտաձորի կենտրոնում և համաձայն շինարարական արձանագրության՝ կառուցվել է 1692 թվականին։ Հատկանշական է եկեղեցու սրբատաշ շքամուտքը, որը զարդանախշ է՝ մայր հողն ու երկրագունդը խորհրդանշող շրջանակներով։ Պատերի ներսում հայտնաբերվել են խաչաքանդակ սալեր և խաչքարերի բեկորներ։
Այն որ Կավաքավանքի տարածքում եղել է վանական համալիր, վկայում են բլրի վրա շրջապարիսպների, միաբանության խցերի, ուխտավորաց սենյակների դեռևս պահպանված հիմքերի մնացորդները։ Վանքը գտնվում է կոնաձև լեռան գագաթին։
Ներկայիս եկեղեցին երբեմնի վանական համալիրից կանգուն մնացած միակ կառույցն է, որը վերակառուցվել է 1742 թվականին Դիզակի Մելիք Եգանի և նրա հոր՝ Ղուկաս վարդապետի հրահանգով և շրջակա գյուղերի բնակիչների միջոցներով։
Գերեզմաններում հայտնաբերվել են մեծ քանակությամբ կավե սափորներ, ոսկորներից և զանազան քարերից պատրաստած ուլունքներ, զարդաքանդակներով կոճակներ, մետաղյա ապարանջաններ, մատանի և այլն։
Համայնքի տարածքում առկա են մի շարք աղբյուրներ` «Հոսող», «Անտառային ջրեր», «Տուղուցուց տափեր», «Խնձորոտուն ծոր», «Փոսեն արտ», «Մոլլա դարա»,« Հրսանեն կալատեղվ», «Ունջանանց կալ», «Ըրկաթեն ծոր»։
Մինչև 2020 թվականի 44-օրյա պատերազմը գյուղում գործել են գյուղապետարան, մշակույթի տուն, բուժկետ, միջնակարգ դպրոց։ Գյուղում ապրել է ավելի քան 300 մարդ, ովքեր հիմնականում զբաղվել են գյուղատնտեսությամբ` անասնապահությամբ և հողագործությամբ»:
