ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ իր պաշտոնը ստանձնելուց առաջ երկիր է մուտք գործել մոտ 25 միլիոն մարդ։
«Մենք ունեինք սահման, որը աղետ չէր։ Նրանք միլիոններով էին մտնում։ Ես խոսում եմ 25 միլիոն մարդու մասին։ Դուք խոսում եք ավելի փոքր թվի մասին, բայց ես խոսում եմ 25 միլիոն անօրինական ներգաղթյալների մասին»,- ասել է նա Սպիտակ տան մամուլի ասուլիսում լրագրողներին։
«Այժմ նրանցից շատերը հեռացել են։ Մեզ մոտ եղել է ավելի քան 11 հազար մարդասպան։ Մենք նրանցից շատերին արտաքսել ենք։ Այդ մարդկանցից շատերը վտարվել են երկրից, վերադարձվել այնտեղ, որտեղից եկել են, իսկ որոշ դեպքերում՝ բանտարկվել, քանի որ նրանք շատ վտանգավոր են»,- հավելել է ԱՄՆ նախագահը։
Թրամփը բազմիցս արտահայտվել է ներգաղթային քաղաքականության խստացման օգտին։ Իր երդմնակալությունից անմիջապես հետո նա ստորագրել է գործադիր հրամանագիր՝ ԱՄՆ-Մեքսիկա սահմանի երկայնքով արտակարգ դրություն հայտարարելու մասին։ Նախագահը հայտարարել է, որ մտադիր է իրականացնել ամերիկյան պատմության մեջ անօրինական ներգաղթյալների ամենախոշոր արտաքսման գործողությունը։
