«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
rossaprimavera.ru–ն «ԱՄՆ-ը Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հարցերով խորհրդակցում է թուրքական հետախուզության հետ» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահի հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Սթիվ Վիտկոֆը Հայաստանի, Ադրբեջանի և Ուկրաինայի վերաբերյալ հարցեր է ուղղում Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ֆիդան Հաքանին և Թուրքիայի Ազգային հետախուզական կազմակերպության ղեկավար Իբրահիմ Քալինին։ Այս մասին նա հայտարարել է սեպտեմբերի 25-ին Նյու Յորքում կայացած ամենամյա «Կոնկորդիա» գագաթաժողովում։
Վիտկոֆը նշել է, որ թուրք դիվանագետների հետ շփումը իրականացվում է Թուրքիայում ԱՄՆ դեսպան Թոմ Բարաքի միջոցով: «Թուրքիայում մեր դեսպան Թոմ Բարաքն ունի երկու մարդ, որոնք չափազանց կարևոր են տարածաշրջանում տեղի ունեցող ամեն ինչի համար։ Մեկը պարոն Իբրահիմ Քալինն է՝ MIT հետախուզության ղեկավարը, իսկ մյուսը՝ արտաքին գործերի նախարար Հաքան Ֆիդանը։ Եթե ես հարցեր ունեմ, լինի դա Ադրբեջանում, Հայաստանում, կամ նույնիսկ անգամ Ուկրաինայում, ապա այդ պարոնայք փորձագետներ են այդ բոլոր ոլորտներում»,– ասել է նա։
Ըստ Վիտկոֆի, եթե ինքը խնդիր ունի Ադրբեջանում կամ Հայաստանում, նա զանգահարում է Թուրքիայում ԱՄՆ դեսպանին և հարցնում Քալինի կամ Ֆիդանի կարծիքը։ «Ահա թե ինչպես ենք մենք համագործակցում։ Մենք, շնորհիվ վարչակազմի ներսում այս տեսակի փոխգործակցության, ունենք հաջող լուծումների բազմաթիվ օրինակներ», - եզրափակել էր Թրամփի խորհրդականը։
Հայ քաղաքագետ Բենիամին Մաթևոսյանը կարծում է, որ սա գործնականում կարող է նշանակել, որ, օրինակ՝ «Զանգեզուրի միջանցքը» «Թրամփի ճանապարհով» քողարկելու գաղափարը թուրքական գաղափար է, որը նպատակ ունի փրկել իրենց գործընկեր Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի դեմքը Հայաստանում»։
