Նորվեգիայի Ֆյորդե քաղաքում ավարտվող ծանրամարտի աշխարհի առաջնությունում մեկնարկել է տղամարդկանց +110 կգ քաշայինների պայքարը: Մրցահարթակ է դուրս եկել Փարիզի Օլիմպիական խաղերի փոխչեմպիոն, աշխարհի չեմպիոն, Եվրոպայի կրկնակի չեմպիոն Վարազդատ Լալայանը:
Հայաստանի վերջին ներկայացուցիչը պոկում վարժությունից հետո առաջատարն է եւ 211 կգ փոքր ոսկե մեդալ է նվաճել: Այս քաշային կարգում Բահրեյնը ներկայացնող Գոռ Մինասյանը փոքր արծաթե մեդալակիր է:
Վարազդատ Լալայանը առաջին մոտեցմամբ պոկեց 206 կգ-ը: Երկրորդ մոտեցման համար Փաշիկ Ալավերդյանը պատվիրեց 211 կգ, բայց աշխարհի չեմպիոնը ձախողեց: Երրորդ մոտեցմամբ Լալայանը բարձրացրեց 211 կգ-ը եւ այս վարժությունում նվաճեց փոքր ոսկե մեդալ:
Գոռ Մինասյանը պոկում վարժությունում առաջին փորձից ձախողեց 205 կգ-ը, երկրորդ մոտեցմամբ հաջողությամբ բարձրացրեց 205 կգ-ը: Երրորդ մոտեցման համար Մինայսանը պատվիրեց 210 կգ, բայց չկարողացավ պոկել ծանրաձողը:
