Վիսկոնսինում հայտնաբերվել է նախապատմական «կանոեների կայանատեղի»

ԱՄՆ Վիսկոնսին նահանգի Մեդիսոն քաղաքում՝ Մենդոտա լճի ափին, ջրասուզակ հնագետները հայտնաբերել են 16 հնագույն կանոե, որոնցից ամենահինը թվագրվում է մոտ 4500 տարվա վաղեմությամբ։ Ըստ Վիսկոնսինի պատմական ընկերության (Wisconsin Historical Society), այս կանոեները, որոնք պատկանել են բնիկ ամերիկացիներին, ընկած են լճի հատակին՝ համեմատաբար կոմպակտ տարածքում։
Ծովային հնագետ Թամարա Թոմսենը նշում է, որ գտածոն գտնվում է հնագույն բնիկ արահետների խաչմերուկի մոտակայքում։ Սա թույլ է տալիս ենթադրել, որ հնագույն մարդիկ միտումնավոր թողել են կանոեները այդտեղ՝ որպեսզի ցանկացած ճանապարհորդ կարողանա օգտվել դրանցից։ «Սա հազարամյակներ շարունակ գործած «կանոեների կայանատեղի» է», – ասել է Թոմսենը
Առաջին կանոեն հայտնաբերվել է 2021 թվականին՝ մոտ 1200 տարվա հնությամբ, 7 մետր խորության վրա։
2022-ին գտել են ևս երեքը՝ մոտավորապես 3000, 4500 և 2000 տարվա հնությամբ։
Ընդհանուր առմամբ այժմ քարտեզագրված է 16 կանոե։
Հնագետների կարծիքով՝ այս վայրը ծառայել է որպես համայնքային «նավամատույց» կամ «կանոեների շարինգ», ինչպես ժամանակակից քաղաքներում էլեկտրական սկուտերների կամ հեծանիվների կայանատեղերը. ճանապարհորդները թողել են նավակները, վերցրել ուրիշները և շարունակել ճանապարհը։ Այսպիսի «կանոեների պարկ» օգտագործվել է հազարավոր տարիներ շարունակ՝ դառնալով Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայի ամենահին հայտնի համայնքային տրանսպորտային համակարգերից մեկը։
