ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը Politico-ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է, որ Ռուսաստանը բանակցություններում «առավելություն» և ավելի ուժեղ դիրք ունի, քանի որ Ուկրաինայում պատերազմը դադարեցնելու համար ձգտում է հասնել խաղաղության համաձայնագրի։

Նա նշել է, որ ժամանակն է, որ Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին «սկսի ընդունել իրողությունը»։

«Նա ստիպված կլինի իրեն հավաքել և սկսի հաշտվել, որ պարտվում է»,- ասել է Թրամփը։

Հարցին՝ արդյոք Ուկրաինան պարտվել է պատերազմում, ԱՄՆ նախագահը պատասխանել է, որ «նրանք շատ հողեր են կորցրել» և «դուք, անշուշտ, չեք ասի, որ դա հաղթանակ էր»։

Միևնույն ժամանակ, Թրամփը համաձայն չէր իր որդու՝ Դոնալդ Թրամփ կրտսերի այն ենթադրության հետ, ըստ որի ինքը կարող է հրաժարվել Ռուսաստանի և Ուկրաինայի միջև խաղաղության բանակցություններից։

«Դա ճիշտ չէ, բայց ամբողջովին սխալ չէ,- ասել է Թրամփը։ -Ռուսաստանի հետ դժվար է, քանի որ Ռուսաստանն ունի առավելություն, և այդպես միշտ է եղել։ Նրանք շատ ավելի խոշոր են։ Այդ առումով նրանք շատ ավելի ուժեղ են։ Ես գովեստի խոսքեր եմ ասում Ուկրաինայի ժողովրդի և ուկրաինական զինվորականների մասին՝ նրանց,  քաջության և պայքարի մասին, այս ամենի մասին։ Բայց գիտեք, ինչ-որ պահի թվաքանակի պակասը մեծ հաշվով կհաղթանակի։
