Եթե կա կարծիք, որ այս ամենը հետևանք չի ունենալու, այդ կարծիքը սխալ է: Ամենամեծ ցավն այս ամենի նրանում է, որ հետևանքը վրա է հասնում Հայաստանի նկատմամբ: Կոնկրետ անձինք կատարում են կոնրետ գործողություններ, հետևանքը լինում է կոլեկտիվ: Այս մասին Սամվել Կարապետյանի փաստաբանական խմբի ասուլիսի ժամանակ ասել է փաստաբան Արամ Վարդևանյանը: 

«Հստակ է, թե ինչի համար էր անհրաժեշտ Սամվել Կարապետյանին ամեն գնով կալանավորել և կալանքի տակ պահել: Խնդիրներից մեկն, այո՛, թաքնված է նրանում, որ մեր ինքնության, մեր Մայր Աթոռի հանդեպ կա ուղիղ քաղաքական որոշում՝ ճնշման, նսեմացման և միջամտության: Ազգային բարերար Սամվել Կարապետյանն, այո՛, խոչընդոտ է նման վարքագծին»,-նշել է նա: 

Փաստաբանն ասել է, որ Կարապետյանի հայտարարությանը՝ մեր ձևով կմասնակցենք եկեղեցու պաշտպանությանը, ՀՀ-ում հանգեցնում է 177 օր տևող կալանքի և, ըստ նրա, այդ կալանքը հաստատող դատավորները, նման միջնորդություն ներկայացնող քննիչները, դրանք պաշտպանող դատախազները ՀՀ քաղաքացներ են:

«Սամվել Կարապետյանը հետախուզվում է Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունների իրավասու մարմինների կողմից: Սամվել Կարապետյանը 177 օր բանտում է Հայաստանում»,-ընդգծել է Վարդևանյանը:

Փաստաբանի պնդմամբ, հարցի մյուս կողմն էլ վերաբերում է ՀԷՑ-ին և ակնհայտ է, որ այս ամենը զուգահեռաբար սկսվեց:
