Կամբոջան անմիջապես կասեցրել է Թաիլանդի հետ սահմանային անցակետերում ցամաքային բոլոր մուտքերն ու ելքերը՝ հետևելով Սենատի խոսնակ Հուն Սենի առաջարկին՝ սահմանային լարվածության պայմաններում քաղաքացիական բնակչության անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար, հաղորդում է Cambodieness-ը։

Ներքին գործերի նախարարության դեկտեմբերի 13-ի հայտարարության մեջ ասվում է, որ այս որոշումը կայացվել է Կամբոջայի, Թաիլանդի և բոլոր օտարերկրյա քաղաքացիներին պաշտպանելու համար՝ հատկապես նրանց, ովքեր հատում են սահմանը։ Կամբոջայի և Թաիլանդի քաղաքացիներին խորհուրդ է տրվում մնալ այնտեղ, որտեղ ներկայումս ապրում և աշխատում են, մինչև հրադադարի ռեժիմի լիակատար պահպանումը։

Նախարարությունը հանձնարարել է տեղական իշխանություններին ապահովել Թաիլանդի քաղաքացիների և օտարերկրյա բնակիչների լիակատար պաշտպանությունը և օգնությունը՝ Կամբոջայի քաղաքացիների հետ հավասար պայմաններում։ Նախարարությունը նաև կոչ է արել Թաիլանդին ապահովել այնտեղ բնակվող կամբոջացիների անվտանգությունը։

Սենատի նախագահ Հուն Սենը կոչ է արել վարչապետին դիտարկել անդրսահմանային ուղևորությունները ժամանակավորապես դադարեցնելու հարցը, վկայակոչելով շարունակվող բախումների ֆոնին անվտանգության նկատառումները։

Նա նշել է, որ սահմանին տեղի ունեցած վերջին միջադեպերը հանգեցրել են քաղաքացիական զոհերի, վնասել են հանրային ենթակառուցվածքներին և որոշ տարածքներ ենթարկել են վտանգավոր նյութերի ազդեցությանը։

Ելույթ ունենալով որպես Սենատի նախագահ, Գերագույն գաղտնի խորհրդի ղեկավար և իշխող կուսակցության նախագահ, Հուն Սենը հայտարարել է, որ առաջարկվող միջոցը նպատակ ունի նվազեցնել անդրսահմանային տեղաշարժի հետ կապված ռիսկերն այս բարդ ժամանակահատվածում։ Նա նաև կոչ է արել կամբոջական իշխանություններին ապահովել ներկայումս Կամբոջայում գտնվող Թաիլանդի քաղաքացիների անվտանգությունը։
