«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Չնայած հոլանդացիներն են համարվում ջինի ստեղծողները, բայց այդ ըմպելիքը համաշխարհային ճանաչում է ձեռք բերել անգլիացիների շնորհիվ, ովքեր արագ դարձել են այդ թունդ ըմպելիքի երկրպագուներ և տարածել դրա պատրաստման բաղադրատոմսը ամբողջ աշխարհում։

Դասական ջինը հացահատիկային սպիրտից պատրաստված թունդ խմիչք է, որը թրմվել է գիհիով։ Սակայն Բիֆիտեր (Beefeater) ջինն ունի իր առանձնահատկությունները, որոնք օգնում են նրան առանձնանալ նմանատիպ ըմպելիքներից։ Չնայած աշխարհում միայն 6 մարդ գիտի այդ խմիչքի ճշգրիտ բաղադրատոմսը, բայց հայտնի է, որ գիհիից բացի, այն թրմվում է ցիտրուսային կեղևով, անգելիկայով, համեմի սերմով, նուշով և, հնարավոր է, որոշ այլ բաղադրիչներով։ Բոլոր խոտաբույսերը թրմվում են սպիրտով, որպեսզի դրանց համն ու բույրը հնարավորինս շատ փոխանցվեն դրան։ Թրմելուց հետո սպիրտը գոլորշիացվում է թույլ կրակի վրա 7-8 ժամ՝ ցանկալի թնդությունը ստանալու համար։ Ի դեպ, պատրաստի ըմպելիքի թնդությունը պետք է լինի առնվազն 47 աստիճան։ Դրա շնորհիվ այն լավ պահպանում է բոլոր այն նյութերը, որոնք թրմման ընթացքում անցել են սպիրտի մեջ։

Այս բաղադրատոմսը հորինել է երիտասարդ լոնդոնցի դեղագործ Ջեյմս Բարոուն։ Եվ ոչ միայն հորինել է, այլ նաև սկսել է արտադրությունը՝ 1863 թվականին Թեմզա գետի ափին փոքրիկ գործարան կառուցելով։ Ջինն արդեն ստեղծված էր, բայց չէին կարողանում դրա համար հնչեղ անուն մտածել, մինչև Ջեյմսի ընկերներից մեկը չսկսեց պատմել բրիտանական պատմության լեգենդար դեմք՝ Վիլհելմ Նվաճողին պահպանող զինվորների մասին։ Կարծիք կա, որ նրանք մեծ ուժ ունեին, քանի որ շատ տավարի միս էին ուտում։ Ջեյմս Բարոուն որոշեց, որ տղամարդկանց համար ուժեղ խմիչքը կարող է անուն ունենալ այդ լեգենդի հիման վրա, և նրա ջինը կոչվեց Beef-eater, որը անգլերենից թարգմանաբար նշանակում է «տավարի միս ուտողներ»։ Ներկայում Բիֆիտեր ջինը դեռևս արտադրվում է Լոնդոնում, չնայած 20-րդ դարում գործարանը տեղափոխվեց Վոքսհոլի տարածք։ Բիֆիտերը սովորաբար խմում են սառեցված՝ առանց նոսրացման։ Այս դեպքում այն մատուցվում է թափանցիկ, հաստ հատակով բաժակներով։ Բացի այդ, որոշ դեպքերում այդ ջինը նոսրացվում է հյութով, տոնիկներով, կոլայով կամ հանքային ջրով։ Ավանդաբար, Բիֆիտերը բազմաթիվ կոկտեյլների մաս է կազմում, այդ թվում՝ այնպիսի հայտնի կոկտեյլների, ինչպիսիք են «Պտուտակահանը» և «Հյուսիսային լույսերը»: «Ադամն ու Եվան» կոկտեյլի բնօրինակ բաղադրատոմսը, բացի Բիֆիտեր ջինից, ներառում է մեղրի լիկյոր, կիտրոնի հյութ, նռան օշարակ, բալի և կիտրոնի կտորներ: Նաև հարկ է նշել «Սատանայի բեղեր» կոկտեյլը, որը, բացի Բիֆիտերից, ներառում է չոր և քաղցր վերմուտ, ինչպես նաև նարնջի հյութ և նարնջի լիկյոր:
