Տոնական սեղանների մյուս վտանգը սննդի չափազանց մեծ քանակն ու անհամատեղելի մթերքների օգտագործումն է։ Ճարպոտ, աղի և քաղցր ուտեստների միաժամանակ օգտագործումը ծանրաբեռնում է ստամոքսը, լյարդը և ենթաստամոքսային գեղձը։ Բժիշկները խորհուրդ են տալիս ուտել փոքր չափաբաժիններով, խուսափել գիշերային ծանր սննդից և ուշադրություն դարձնել սննդի պահպանման ժամկետներին։

Առանձին ուշադրության են արժանի երեխաների անվտանգությունը։ Տոնական օրերին հաճախ օգտագործվում են փայլիկներ, հրավառություններ, մոմեր և էլեկտրական լույսեր, որոնք կարող են դառնալ այրվածքների կամ վնասվածքների պատճառ։ Մասնագետները հորդորում են երեխաներին չթողնել առանց վերահսկողության, վտանգավոր իրերը պահել անհասանելի վայրերում և խուսափել անորակ խաղալիքներից։

Չպետք է մոռանալ նաև հոգեբանական կողմի մասին։ Քնի պակասը, աղմուկը և գերհոգնածությունը կարող են ազդել թե՛ մեծերի, թե՛ երեխաների ինքնազգացողության վրա։ Տոները խորհուրդ է տրվում պլանավորել այնպես, որ լինեն նաև հանգստի և վերականգնման պահեր։
