Ձնաբքերի պատճառով տրանսպորտի երթևեկությունը շարունակում է խափանվել, ինչի հետևանքով ԱՄՆ-ի հյուսիսային հարթավայրերից մինչև Նոր Անգլիա 38 միլիոն մարդ ձմեռային եղանակի մասին նախազգուշացում է ստացել։ Այս մասին հայտնում է NBC News-ը։
Կիրակի կեսօրին Միացյալ Նահանգներում ավելի քան 3500 չվերթ հետաձգվել է, իսկ ավելի քան 400-ը՝ չեղարկվել։ Կիրակի առավոտյան Կոլորադոյի, Վիսկոնսինի և Մինեսոտայի որոշ շրջաններում արդեն ձյուն էր տեղում, իսկ անձրևը Այովայից տարածվել էր մինչև Օհայոյի հովիտ՝ որոշ հատվածներում առաջացնելով ուժգին քամի և կայծակ։ Մինեապոլիսի տարածքում կիրակի առավոտյան նկարահանված տեսանյութում երևում է, թե ինչպես է առատ ձյունը տեղում արդեն ձյունապատ գետնին։
Ըստ կանխատեսումների, կիրակի երեկոյան Մեծ լճերից դեպի միջին հարավ ուժեղ ամպրոպ է շարժվելու, ինչը կարող է հանգեցնել չվերթների հետաձգման Չիկագոյում, Ինդիանապոլիսում, Դետրոյթում և Մեմֆիսում։ Իլինոյսում և Ինդիանայում չորս միլիոն մարդ եղանակային վատ պայմանների պատճառով տորնադոյի փոքր ռիսկի տակ է։
Տեխասից մինչև Նյու Յորք իննսունչորս միլիոն մարդ քամու մասին նախազգուշացում է ստացել։ Սպասվում է, որ քամու պոռթկումները կկազմեն ժամում 35-ից 50 մղոն, իսկ որոշ վայրերում կարող են հասնել մինչև 65 մղոնի։
Տուժած քաղաքների թվում են Դալասը, Օկլահոմա Սիթին, Քանզաս Սիթին, Չիկագոն, Ինդիանապոլիսը, Քլիվլենդը, Դետրոյթը և Բաֆալոն։ Այս համակարգը կիրակի կեսօրին ձյուն և անձրև կբերի Միջին Արևմուտք և Մեծ լճերի շրջան ու կշարունակվի մինչև երկուշաբթի առավոտ։
Ձյան տեղումներն ու ժամում 40 մղոն արագությամբ քամու պոռթկումները բուք կառաջացնեն Այովայի, Մինեսոտայի, Վիսկոնսինի որոշ շրջաններում և Միչիգանի Վերին թերակղզում։ Երկուշաբթի օրվա ընթացքում Միչիգանի որոշ հատվածներում և Մեծ լճերի արևելյան մասում առատ ձյուն կտեղա։
