1939 թվականին Փարիզում այս տան տիրուհին փակել է դռները և լքել է բնակարնը: 70 տարի անց այն բացեցին:
Ներսում գտան այն ժամանակների զարմանալի կահավորանք և հարդարանք, արվեստի բացառիկ գերծեր, որոնց արժեքը հասնում է մի քանի միլիոն դոլարի: Միայն ավելի ուշ նրանք իմացան, թե իրականում ում էր պատկանում այս բնակարանը:
1939 թվականին 23-ամյա մադամ դե Ֆլորիանը ստիպված եղավ ոչ հեշտ որոշում կայացնել և լքել Փարիզի իր շքեղ բնակարանը: Դա Երկրորդ Համաշխարհային պատերազմի ժամանակ էր, և նրա տեղափոխությունը, հավանաբար, կապված էր այն լուրի հետ, որ զորքերն արդեն մտնում էին Փարիզ:
Այս ողջ տարիների ընթացքում նա շարունակ վճարել է բնակարանի հետ կապված ծախսերը, սակայն այդպես էլ չի վերադարձել Փարիզ: 2010 թվականին այդ կինը մահացել է 91 տարեկան հասակում:
Միայն նրա մահից հետո են ժառանգներն իմացել բնակարանի գոյության մասին:
Ինչպես ավելի ուշ պարզվեց, Մարտա դե Ֆլորիանը եղել է ֆրանսիացի հայտնի դերասանուհի և աշխարհիկ գեղեցկուհի:
Նա շքեղ կյանք է վարել և բազմաթիվ երկրպագուներ է ունեցել հայտնի մարդկանց շրջանում, ներառյալ հայտնի նկարիչների, մի քանի վարչապետերի և Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի:
