Պաշտոնական տվյալների համաձայն, որոնք ստացվել են շաբաթ օրը, Ուգանդայի նախագահ Յովերի Մուսեւենին ընտրվել է յոթերորդ ժամկետով՝ ընտրություններում հավաքելով ձայների 71,65 տոկոսը։ Ընտրությունները մթագնվել են ինտերնետի անջատմամբ եւ խարդախությյան մասին հայտարարություններով նրա երիտասարդ մրցակցի կողմից, որը չի ընդունել ընտրությունների արդյունքները եւ խաղաղ բողոքների կոչ է արել, տեղեկացրել է Associated Press-ը։

Վերջնական արդյունքների համաձայն՝ նրա մրցակիցը քաղաքական գործիչ դարձած երաժիշտ է, որն ավելի շատ հայտնի է որպես Բոբի Վայն, հավաքել է 24,72 տոկոս ձայն։ Վայնը, որի իսկական անունը Կյագուլանյի Սսենտամու է, դատապարտել է այն, ինչն անվանել է «անարդար ընտրական գործընթաց», եւ ընտրությունների գծով իր գործակալների ենթադրյալ առեւանգումները։ Նա հայտնել է, որ չի ընդունել «կեղծ արդյունքները», եւ ուգանդացիներին խաղաղ ցույցերի կոչ է արել այնքան ժամանակ, մինչեւ որ «չհայտարարվեն օրինական արդյունքները»։

Վայնն ասել է, որ ստիպված է եղել փախչել, որպեսզի խուսափի անվտանգության ուժերի կողմից ձերբակալվելուց, որոնք գրոհել են իր տունն ուրբաթ երեկոյան։

Ավելի վաղ նրա կուսակցությունը հայտնել էր, որ իրեն բռնի տարել են ռազմական ուղղաթիռով, բայց ոստիկանությունը հերքել է սա։ Ոստիկանության ներկայացուցիչ Կիտուումա Ռուսոկեն հայտնել է, որ Վայնը կալանավորված չէ եւ կարող է ազատ հեռանալ իր տնից, բայց այլ անձանց համար, որոնք փորձել են ներխուժել տարածք, նախատեսված է «վերահսկելի հասանելիություն», որպեսզի մարդիկ չկարողանան շինությունն օգտագործել բռնություն հրահրելու համար։
