Միացյալ Նահանգները կօգնի Ղարաբաղին

Միացյալ Նահանգների Սենատի հատկացումների հանձնաժողովը որոշել է վերականգնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը ամերիկյան օգնություն ստացողների շարքում եւ ավելացնել Հայաստանին հատկացվող գումարը: Այս մասին «Ամերիկայի Ձայնին» պատմել է Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի Հանձնախմբի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի բաժնի ղեկավար Եղիսաբեթ Չուլջյանը:
«Արցախին Ամերիկայի օժանդակությունը շարունակելու մասին երեկվա որոշումը կարեւոր քայլ էր՝ Ամերիկա-Արցախ հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման համար», - ասաց Չուլջյանը:
Նրա խոսքով, 1998-ից ի վեր Լեռնային Ղարաբաղին հատկացվողամերիկյան օգնությունը կարեւոր դեր է խաղում տեղի բնակչության մարդասիրական խնդիրները կարգավորելու համար: Սենատի հատկացումների հանձնաժողովի որոշմամբ, 10 տոկոսով ավելացել է նաեւ ամերիկյան օժանդակությունը Հայաստանին` հասնելով 20 միլիոն դոլարի:
Հայաստանին ամերիկյան հատկացումների միջոցով տասնյակ հայ երիտասարդներ արտերկրում ուսումը շարունակելու հնարավորություն են ստանում, հարյուրավոր կանանց համար ապահովվում է քաղցկեղի անվճար վաղ ախտորոշում եւ լիակատար բուժում, Հայաստանում եւ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում վնասազերծվում են հազարավոր ականներ, փրկվում եւ բարելավվում են բազմաթիվ մարդկանց կյանքեր:
Միայն Ղարաբաղում ԱՄՆ-ի պետբյուջեից ստացված միջոցներով եւ բարերարների օգնությամբ հաջողվել է վնասազերծել 250-ից ավելի ականապատված դաշտ: Հայաստանում տասնյակ գյուղեր ապահովվել են ոռոգման եւ խմելու ջրով, լուսավորվել են մարզային քաղաքների եւ գյուղերի փողոցներ, մանր արտադրողներին վարկ ստանալու հնարավորություն է տրվել:
