Եթե Կամչատկայում կուտակված հսկայական քանակի ձյունը հալվի, հետևանքները կարող են լինել ոչ միայն տեղային, այլ նաև միջազգային մասշտաբի։ Ահա ինչ սցենարներ են դիտարկում գիտնականներն ու բնապահպանները․

Ջրհեղեղներ և սողանքներ
Կամչատկայի լեռնային ռելիեֆը և հրաբխային հողերը չափազանց խոցելի են։ Ձյան արագ հալոցքը կարող է առաջացնել լայնամասշտաբ ջրհեղեղներ, սողանքներ ու հողերի փլուզում՝ վտանգելով բնակավայրերը, ճանապարհները և ենթակառուցվածքները։

Գետերի ու օվկիանոսի մակարդակի բարձրացում
Հալոցքային ջրերը կհասնեն Օխոտսկի և Բերինգի ծովեր։ Թեպետ մեկ տարածաշրջանը չի կարող գլոբալ օվկիանոսի մակարդակը կտրուկ փոխել, սակայն նման գործընթացների բազմապատկումը արագացնում է համաշխարհային ծովերի բարձրացումը։

Էկոհամակարգերի խախտում
Քաղցրահամ ջրի մեծ հոսքը կարող է փոխել գետերի ջերմաստիճանը և քիմիական կազմը՝ վնասելով ձկնային պաշարներին, հատկապես սաղմոնին, որը կենսական նշանակություն ունի տարածաշրջանի համար։

Կամչատկան հրաբուխների ամենաակտիվ գոտիներից է։ Ձյան և սառույցի զանգվածային հալոցքը կարող է փոխել ճնշումը հրաբխային համակարգերի վրա՝ տեսականորեն մեծացնելով ժայթքման կամ ցեխահոսքերի (լահարների) հավանականությունը։

Կլիմայական ազդակ ամբողջ աշխարհին
Այս երևույթը կդառնա ևս մեկ ապացույց, որ կլիմայական փոփոխությունները մտել են վտանգավոր փուլ։ Արկտիկ և ենթարկտիկ շրջաններում նման հալոցքները արագացնում են գլոբալ տաքացման շղթայական ռեակցիաները։

Կամչատկայի ձյան հալոցքը պարզապես եղանակային խնդիր չէ։ Դա կարող է վերածվել բնապահպանական, տնտեսական և նույնիսկ անվտանգության հարցի՝ հիշեցնելով, որ կլիմայական փոփոխությունները վաղուց դադարել են լինել «ապագայի խնդիր»։
