ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը և Սիրիայի նախագահ Ահմեդ ալ-Շարաան հեռախոսազրույց են ունեցել։

Քննարկումը կենտրոնացած է եղել Սիրիայի անցումային շրջանի զարգացումների և անվտանգության ու կայունության ամրապնդման ջանքերի, ինչպես նաև տարածաշրջանային և միջազգային կայունությանը նպաստող երկկողմ համագործակցության հեռանկարների վրա։

Ալ-Շարաան վերահաստատել է Սիրիայի լիակատար հավատարմությունը իր տարածքի միասնությանը և ազգային ինքնիշխանությանը, ինչպես նաև պետության վճռականությունը՝ պահպանելու իր ինստիտուտները և ամրապնդելու քաղաքացիական խաղաղությունը։ Նա ընդգծել է միջազգային ջանքերի միավորման կարևորությունը՝ կանխելու ահաբեկչական կազմակերպությունների, առաջին հերթին՝ ԴԱԻՇ-ի վերադարձը։

Թրամփը վերահաստատել է իր երկրի աջակցությունը Սիրիայի ժողովրդի միասնական և ուժեղ պետություն կառուցելու ձգտումներին և ողջունել հրադադարի համաձայնագիրը՝ այն համարելով հակամարտության դադարեցման ուղղությամբ կարևոր քայլ։ Նա նաև իր աջակցությունն է հայտնել ռազմական ուժերի, այդ թվում՝ Սիրիայի դեմոկրատական ​​ուժերի (SDF)՝ պաշտոնական պետական ​​ինստիտուտներին ինտեգրման վերաբերյալ համաձայնագրերին։
